i apologize if this has been posted before.  I just finished reading this story and felt compelled to see what others thought about it. It's by far one of the best writings on a MMORPG I've read. I don't know if it's true or not (I hope it's not).

The story starts out:

This is a story of
deception, intrigue, and doublecrossing. It is a story of liars,
bandits, and greed. It is a story of the worst of the human
condition, and how the motive for profit will drive a normally nice
guy to the deepest depths of evil and betrayal.

This is the story of my
life in Eve Online.


So give it a read and post what you think. A word of caution...there is adult language so kids get your parents permission before you read ;)

    Very old, but an interesting read for those new commers to eve none the less.

    It also has several glaring factual errors and is probably fiction.

    Still, its a good read.

    EVE Online plays host to some of the most compelling player-versus-player drama I've ever seen. This story, plus the highly-reported infiltration, assasination and pillaging of Ubiqua Seraph by the Guiding Hand Social Club are stories you simply won't read very often (if ever) in almost any MMOG.

    Not only are they tolerated by the game's developers, they are considered a core component of the gameplay. Like it or hate it, there's no game out there like it.

    Its true it was seriously kewl to read that story and the one about the infiltration by the Guiding hand.

    Too bad I just can't seem to get into EVE like these people do.

    Nods... I remember reading that about 6 months ago when I gave EVE a try and googled all I could about the game.  the general consensus does seem to say that the story is fiction, however I really did enjoy reading it.

    Kind of reminded me of "The Sting" with Redford.
