If you computer can play Battfield2, EQ2 or Quake fine, but somehow has a problem with Dark & Light...

.....WHERE do you think the problem lays..??

Why would you put yourself through all the pain, when a properly developed game beta test and configures the errant code to work with YOUR machine !!

Dark & Light has numerious problems, horrible framerates is just one of them. Wait until Farlan fixes their game, don't abuse your time or computer like that, plz !!

    Hey Methode!!

These are the sets you need to take.

Call your credit card company and tell them to reverse the charges.

    Then..

    forget about DnL

u meen like click and buy ?

  • DabbleDabble Member Posts: 1,043

if you are successful with them, then yes.

I, however, was not able to get anywhere with them.

Therefore, I just called my credit card company and had the charges reversed.

Yes, cancel your account, and get a damn refund. Many MMO developers seem to think that passing off a shoddy, non-functional piece of junk software, then daring to ask for monthly fees, is acceptable.

It's simple, are you enjoying DnL? Do you think it's worth 14,99 a month?

    Hey Methode!

    What is your native language?

I know a couple of the posters here are French.

Post what your language is here and if any of the posters can explain what to do in your native tongue.

  • Here is a good post by our Lady Cho:

I recently read a comment made by Nabatam on the DNL boards regarding a chargeback transaction:

    http://www.darkandlight.net/forums/showthread.php?t=60592&page=16&pp=20 (page 16 (!) )

However, you should all remember that disputing a charge with your credit card company (even if you have all the right in the world to do so) may have repercusions in your credit score. If you lose rating points this may cost you more than the $55 you paid for the game.

Personally, even though I am extremely disappointed with the game and would like a refund, decided to let it go.

This is completely and utterly UNTRUE!

Having worked in the credit/finance industry for 23 years, as well as being currently a retail merchant myself, I can LOUDLY and affirmatively state, that this is indeed UNTRUE.

    .

    .

There is one side to this however I must explain. If and when you DO request a chargeback, the credit card company will do an "investigation" of your claim. One such as the product was never delivered and the card holders transaction history proves payment was received by seller; service was never delivered with payment; defective product; not as advertised; and a whole host of other reasons you have given them. They then will investigate the matter according to the reasons you give them.

    .

    .

If and only if , they find that your request for chargeback was in fact a false and misleading claim, you will be subject to penalties subject to that particular card service terms of service. This does NOT affect your credit rating in the national and international bureaus repositories - thus it does NOT affect your credit rating in general. It CAN affect your credit rating within the company itself but ONLY if this is a continued practice of false claims and false chargebacks.

    .

    .

In the case of DNL and the product undeliverable (unable to log in as intended), defective product (unplayable in current industry standards), not as advertised (a given) and no clear, precise direct customer support regarding billing (parlay between C&B and Farlan), unsupported requests for refund (no action taken on sellers part after several attempts by you the purchaser)  --- these reasons alone are well within a VALID request for CHARGEBACK. By REQUESTING A CHARGEBACK, this will in NO WAY affect your overall credit rating either within the reporting agencies nor within the parameters of the credit card transaction processors.

    .

    .

Do NOT allow the DNL community to once again hoodwink those who honestly wish to do what is well within their rights to do.

You really need to mix up your names here and on DnL..

Read all my posts.. I've never called anyone a shill for supporting the game..  but you are..  You have sold your soul for a game.  Now how low is that?

You know the game is not ready for release..  You know it is a vast open nothing.. You know leveling is impossible for new gamers..  You know crafting is broken.. you know it is impossible to build the promised kingdoms.. you know pioneers were screwed.. you know new players are screwed if pioneer get all those perks in the current code..  You know, but you prostrate yourself for Farlan..

For what?  Money?  A title?  A sense of being part of something no matter how dirty?

yup and dont be surprised if they treat you like this:

    AD screws it up again.

    http://www.darkandlight.net/forums/showthread.php?p=1049996#post1049996

    qoute from AD Cleopatra

"Again if your tone in your mail to tech support is only half as snotty and disrespectful as it is in this thread (and let me remind you AD is responsible for basic tech support inside the game only, main tech support regarding issues like yours are done by dev team and np3) i am not surprised that your ticket might be not on the Top Ten of their to-do-list."

Many many many ppl have had jsut about the same type of pulled attitude from the tech support too.

yeah, i'm not sure what blacksac's motivation is.

    Have you played D&L yet?
IF not, then what grounds do you have to say the "hatebois" are wrong?

Please stop attacking the "hatebois" until you have played D&L yourself.

And yes, I have played D&L since Pioneer Launch.

Seems to me this was simply asking a logical question. Others chimed in, probably because of the same illogical sense this game seems to make and a passing remark of refunds was made, others helped out and you flame the thread?

I myself have gone through the tech issues and gone through the support route. My request for help must still be on the bottom of their mountain of help issues because it took 2 days before I could get a friend in game to spend 2 hours with me to get me in the game. I was NOT a happy camper. In fact, the game camped me for me!

Your post smacks of all the DNL community attitudes and hateful posts no matter what you ask, what you say or what you may even think! I came over here because several recommended to check out this site and check out the DNL boards. I can surely see why the DNL forum community is losing.

It looks as though balance is in order, and I pipe up to add just a "little" otherwise it gets rediculously one sided

If you lot want me to stop posting, dream on. I'll do that when I'm ready, proberbly if/when I'm playing AoC or something

If the OP did get the run around on the official boards and came here as a last resort, thats fine. But I would still recommend going to the official boards before coming here, where your only going to get directions to the Exit Door... some people believe it or not may actually want real in game help, not some propoganda manifest belted out from a van with loud speakers mounted on the roof

producing a flame adds nothing but that , a flame. I noticed quite a few of your postings in which you whine about being flamed  - yet you seem to think that it is perfectly well done if you do the same.

uncalled for. whining about it then turning around and doing it yourself is a whole entire matter. dont try to excuse your own actions, you are only being hypocritical.

I dont see any saying leave this board except the fanatical and hypocritical players from DNL. Thats the standard motto over there, I have noticed it just doesnt fit as snug here as it does in the hell hole called DNL forum.
some people believe it or not may actually want real in game help, not some propoganda manifest belted out from a van with loud speakers mounted on the roof
You certainly nailed that right and of the many threads of help requests and stalled support and no help in game other than a few easy questions answered simply because there is no manual, nor tutorial. The GMs themselves are standoffish and sometimes quite pissy. They have already made names for themselves by thier rude, insidious comments on the boards, do you honestly think players feel comfortable asking THEM for help in game? I certainly didnt and my friends response was "you wont get any help from them". There are also several posts of this same subject on your own boards.
I dont know what your game is here, but I can see from a newbie here, that you are certainly up to some sort of sport and having a jolly at that. As a newbie here at this board however, you come off slightly less than a shill, but more than a fanboi with an urge to sound as though he has some intelligence and ranks poorly in the showing.

Making this now I see as an argumentive thread.  I noticed you do this quite a bit on threads which you seem to dislike however can not debate the issue.

^ I'll take that as a flame, and I've had many, so don't worry I'm not upset

I just see it differently. I sometimes see that it is alright for the "hatebois" to do the same, but it is not alright for the "fanbois". Such as criticize, share opinions. I gave my reason, and you don't have to like it

You have just "shared you opinion" like myself ( except in a far more outraged way btw ). I did it in a far sweeter way  ... so... forget it... we can't solve this anyway, we are on opposing fronts, and us humans are just crap at solving conflicts

    Have a good day
