I am really not trying to troll, but those are by far some on the worst models I have ever seen, especially the swords. In fact, the swords do not even look like models. They look like they were created, colored and even textured in photoshop. Same as the water. The water looks like a filter in photoshop.
Everyone has to start somewhere. When your learning how to draw you aren't drawing realistically for about a year or 2. Until then you have stick figures and slowly progress into still life realistic renders through practice. The same applies to 3d models. Your definetly improving; you can see the progression from your tower to your house models. The house models looks like the beginning stages of something professional. If you really want to improve; I suggest doing some tutorials at 3Dtotal, 3DCafe, or the like.

I agree for a part. I just started learning Photoshop back then so you can't expect much better from a total photoshop n00b back then. Now i know photoshop very well.
Well I had to create a "Room" in this 3D program called Maya for an assignment in my "Computer 110" class. We had to choose a theme and I kind of just went with a bakery hehe. I had never worked in Maya before this class and look what I did....
Warning: The movie was Uploaded in Flash Player 8 so you will most likely need to have the plugin/player.

Now that does look impressive! Love the glass/plastic. Good job.
Thanks, although I ended up getting an 87 on it. Bah, I can never seem to get an "A" in that damn class, The teacher should of cut us a little slack, was the first time we ever even used the program but meh, I am happy with the outcome I guess. I used to think that 3d Stuff was hard though to be quite honest, and once you get a few lessons on it, its not all that different from....riding a bike?

I attend the Savanah College of Art and Design actually. Their computer lab literally contains thousands of computers which are loaded with all those fancy shmancy programs. (Maya 7.0, 3d studiomax, after effects, blech blech all that stuff). 90% of the programs are wasted on me at the moment considering I don't even know how to use them. But no, we do not get any free copies of the programs hehe....

I was wondering, did your school buy Maya then let you use it at school?
Or did you buy it yourself?
Or did your school let you copy it for free?
Maya is one of the most cutting edge, modern, game creation tools currently out. SWG, EQ2, were done with Maya.
