koadmin - Is it true you are going to delete All the Beta Tester's accounts?

Word was also brought to me that you are going to delete all Beta Accounts come the completion of testing. I have no objections to this but I would like to hear it from you.

    I am sad to inform you that we are going to delete all accounts given out during closed beta. We have decided that migration of characters and inventory to a totally new database is too complicated and time consuming. I am trying to work something out with the other Game Masters and our technical team. But it is confirmed that the database for closed beta will be wiped clean. This is also one of the reasons why we only limited the number of closed beta testers

    Ouch, any eta on the end of closed beta testing? or just "as long as it needs" basis ?

    Yea thanks for letting us know, how about starting the closed beta testers with a couple of levels or something for open beta? heh j/k, we don't deserve that, we are playing this game for free and only giving you bug reports, not deserving of free levels IMO.

    Thanks for the heads up Mr. Koadmin, I'm enjoying this alot.  Hoping were all making a positive impact on the game, although I don't see many on anymore.  Where is everyone lately?

    So i cannot be playing as much as i would like to.

    However if someone is willing to pay my expenses I will gladly play 48+ hours a week.

    Hey Malkavian, I was just stating a fact that not many people in general have been on lately.  Not just from mmorpg, but everyone in beta.  Use to see a alot of people in the starting area and outter towns. Guess with all the lag issues, alot are finding it difficult to play in the evenings.

    Your real life should always come first before online gaming, for sure.  Take care and hope to see you ingame.

    Dont know how this is a surprise.. all beta characters are always wiped from phase to phase..

    They normally do give a little something to those who wish to transfer from beta stages or even from beta to ptp.


    Yordo, I know how you feel these kinds of games can keep me going for a good week if they are good. Than it cools down and settles in that I'll have to go back to work if I want to continue playing it.

    You probably have the same idea as me, sell up everything before last couple of days and get that item you'd been looking at drooling over for all those weeks?

    Lol...the thought had crossed my mind but I haven't been playing quite as much.  I will wait until I get into open beta to start really developing one character.  Right now I have been trying out all the different professions and I have to say that all of them have been impressive.  Overall they have been equal...even though Rogue is a bit overpowered at the beginning.  They end up evening out though at around level 25 so everything ends up okay.  I do plan on working on only one character during open beta because I would like to try out the high end content of the game.  Meaning, getting into the 40-50 level range.  Not many people have reached level 40 in closed beta so it will be interesting to see what kind of fun stuff they have planned for high level characters.

    Well It will be interesting to see how they balance it out in the English version. I have watched my Chinese friends play in guild battles of around 25 on 25, the mages seemed to get over powered causing a few one hit kills on level 76 players.


    Hopefully I will be joining you in the closed beta if my luck has anything to do with me getting drawn out of the 100, that way when this game goes ptp I will have something to pay for. image

    you know I find it crappy that closed beta testers dont automatically get into open. That's pretty damned lame.  First beta I have tested that this is happened.  Glad I didn't waste but more than 10 hours of playtime.

    I would not be like that, the fact is you will be able to get into the open beta quite easily in most likely hood. In addition, you will always have an advantage over the new open beta testers. That is knowledge you will level faster and progress faster and set your self apart which is something they have given you by allowing you to closed beta test.
    What a waste of an opportunity to get a great feel for a game before everyone else so you don't have to wait through those damn experimentation stages

    A true beta tester wouldn't say things like this statement:

    you know I find it crappy that closed beta testers dont automatically get into open. That's pretty damned lame.  First beta I have tested that this is happened.  Glad I didn't waste but more than 10 hours of playtime.

     

    Its always an honor to get into any beta and have the pleasure to have an impact on a game. For whatever time you spend on one beta, you should be glad you at least had some imput for that game. Were not just there to play but to help the game improve before release. 

    This is only my opinion, as I always hope to  play a good part  in helping what ever phase of beta I'm in.

    Maybe you misunderstood my statement.  I will rephrase.

     I have been in closed beta on several others and have been allowed in open beta straight on (and I am not talking about getting to keep everything...I don't care if I have to start over).  I think it is a bad decision by KOAdmin to do that.  You have people in closed beta that have gotten used to the game..know what kind of bugs to look for and can assist the n00b beta testers coming in to open beta.  But they are not allowing closed testers a spot in open testing, you're back on the bottom of the list.  It's a bad bad development choice that will end up hurting them.   Now I am not going to insult the game or anything because I have enjoyed playing the time I had. 

    And you're response "A true beta tester wouldn't say things like this" is very ignorant.  I didn't know you set the standards for beta testers.  Not everyone is always going to agree with your opnions

    All this talk about KO closed / open beta....

    Now im questioning, which beta do i get into if i won the KO contest? And when does it start! Or has it started already?

    Dekron, where does it say you can't be in open beta if you where in closed?  Open beta means exactly that, it's open to everyone (even if you have to make a new account).  Or did I misunderstand?

    open beta does not necessarily mean that it is open to everyone.  That just means that it is open to "discuss" and they will start releasing more info on the game.  Sure there are games that have open beta that allow everyone to apply but that does not necessarily mean you will be allowed in beta.  As far as KO..I am going by what people have been telling me in game.  If it's wrong then I will be happy.
