I'm Also Looking For A New MMORPG...

HuvaraHuvara Member Posts: 73

Hello, I have been playing MMORPG's for awhile now and recently have found the newer ones not as fun or engaging as previous games. WoW was not appealing to me at all and after the free 30 day trial, I quit. I played Planetside for about a year and was one of the funest MMO's I have ever played and had a great concept, neverbefore done. I also played Dark Age of Camelot for 3 years and loved it, favorite MMO. If you know of any other games like Planetside, or DAoC, I would like to please please know about them, because frankly when trying to decide what game to look at when scrolling down that 250 game list... Im just perplexed.

Try Ryzom? *shrug* Maybe you'd like it. Free trial doesn't even require CC info if you select PayByCash.

I was looking at that Ryzom game and it didn't exactly appeal to me... Any other suggestions?

Neocron? Eve? Wurm Online? Ultima Online?

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

You could try Star Sonata...its nothing like Planetside though. Its more of a 2D retro space game...but with a lot of content and a pretty good community.

You would have to tell me what all these games are about because, Just reading a review and looking at it doesn't tell me everything. :/

EQ2 or Lineage2?, other than that there is just waiting till some newer ones like Warhammer Online(made by Mystic) or Huxley/Tabula Rasa(both mmofps games).

Star Sonata is (some would disagree) a online retro space flying game. But there's a lot lot lot more to it, you can own teams, build bases, become and emporer (which no one has done for a while). But...it's still changing, and always will. Worth a try even if its just for the 20 day trial.

Or you could try lorradon (i think thats how you spell it), i played it a year ago . It's 2d fantasy game and was getting along pretty nicely back then, i think they were considering going 3D. Havent checked it out recently but that might also be worth a try. Was free last time i checked.

Star Sonata sounds relatively interesting and it would be awesome if you could give me the website for the game now, I would check it out on google or something but I have my hands full at the moment, and will have to check it out later. If you could give the other games URL (lorradon) that would be awesome as well.

If u wanna get a game its guild wars its like DAoC its really fun its f2p once u buy it for 39.99 + tax its worth ever penny . Another is runescape (i think it sucks) but u might like it (url is www.runescape.com) free game. ANd sherwood its a small world but its nots that bad its alot like DAoC but its a really small world(url www.maidmarian.com)

Thats the only 1s that iv played that are mmorpg that are pretty good

Whenever i step outside, somebody claims to see the light
It seems to me that all of us have lost our patience.
    'cause everyone thinks they're right,

Thanks, but I have tried guild wars and while it was fun it entirely lacked depth, the game was consitantly the same and was arguably the most boring MMO I have ever played, you just ran around and killed monsters all day/... Just to get that AWESOME new set of armor. Thanks, but no thanks. By the way DAoC is Waaaay different than Guild Wars.

    Ok, the url's are:

    www.starsonata.com

    and

    http://www.loradon.com/

By the looks of loradon is still 2D. And dont be put off by the star sonata webite...doesnt look that great. Just go to the left hand side and download the game, while downloading go to the forum and create an account (this will create an account on the game.) once installed just use your forum account to logon onto the game. For some reason the databases are linked for the forum and for the game. If you need any help Forum PM Takuhi, or pm me in-game. (the chat area is sorta hard to get used to so its probably worth reading the guide on the website and on the forum)

I suggest you try There. There is a user built 3D virtual world that actually allows people to create and choose their own experiences. In There your options and choices of activities are not chosen for you, but you are free to create and do mostly whatever you wish. There allows it all to be done and any social or creative person would certainly enjoy There. I highly suggest you try it out. There may not sound like what you are looking for but seriously give it a go. It isn't like trying There would hurt you!
