Hey I'm thinking about buying the game. I'v tryed the trial and I liked it so I just wanted to ask a question about the player houseing. Is the houseing in EQ2 like it is in SWG. I mean can you be walking around in the world and then come up on a player town with houses and if you want go in someone's house and check out their decorations and if they have NPC's (or any thing) in the house that you can talk to and buy things that the owner of the house is selling? That was one of the reasons I loved SWG. Being able to go into someone's house and buy things.

Yes you can go into anyones house as a visitor and look around. You can buy from them but only what they have listed nothing in the room on display is for sale so if your buying furniture you cant see what it looks like.
The owner of the house has to be in their room for you to buy directly from them (which cuts off the brokers fee), otherwise you will have to use a broker to buy stuff from someone who's not at home.
Ok thanks that is just what im looking for = ] thanks for your help

Keep in mind that there is no "new construction" housing out in the open. All housing is within the city limits in the pre-established buildings, and there are a limited amount of addresses. Each address is an instance zone, so many people can live at the same address - they just have their own version of their house.
For example, in South Qeynos, there might be 15 different addresses (floor plans) to choose from. They are not too ornate - large, simple rooms with windows, perhaps stairs to the 2nd floor room.
You can buy better housing in many of the suburbs for a nominal price. The better the floor plan, the more it costs.
When you start the game you will be given a "room at the Inn" which requires a nominal rent fee of 5s per week. You can place items in it to furnish and decorate as you like. Once you make more money, you'll be able to afford bigger and better housing.
You also have 2 storage slots in your room at the Inn. The smart adventurer will place a bag or box in them to increase storage.
