.....Aaaah yes, the lousy site that doesent know anything about MMO'S or MMORPGS. The ratings are an embarassment and a dissapointed. Yeah, why drag WoW out of the way, while you can put up guys that suck andyou never heard of! WoW beats any other MMO or MMOPRG out their...this website knows nothing.
WHY TAKE OTHERS SOULS WHEN YOU ONLY NEED ONE???

At least we know how to write. Perhaps you should go back to school, or use alittle less time on wow and do your homework.
This site actually knows a lot more about MMORPGs than you.
The site states the facts and shows the opinions of people in the ratings they give.
The site isnt responsible for people's opinions on the game.
Oh and... bad idea insulting a website on their forums.
The rating system isn't used propoerly at all though.
For example, people who played WoW and didn't really like it ALWAYS will give it a 1. People who do like it will give it a 10. There is nearly zero middle ground.
If the game is rated 8 and someone thinks "I would think it's more a 7" will vote 1 to try to drop the number more, instead of actually putting in the number they believe the game deserves.
If a game was OK but I wouldnt really play it, I would go give ita 1 like everyone else does, I would give it a 5 or something, but the immaturity of such a large number of people here feel that trashing games is better than finding ones they like, or commenting on things they may like in such games.
I've actually seen a comment in the ratings where the person said "I feel EVE is about a 7.x, not an 8.3, so I'm giving it a 1 to lower the number"
I seems to recall fans of WoW giving this exact same ratings thumbs up about a year ago when WoW was topping the rating for about a month before eve took over.
So now the ratings have fallen the site which knew all knows nothing?hmm.
By the way machoman we still have no confirmation are you new to the game or a vet since launch

Its usually bashed because of its cartoonish style graphics (Wacraft games have always had this look and I think it looks great), Its too easy and not hardcore enough (What? Whats wrong with being user friendly to the user? Why would you want to frustrate your playerbase) and people dislike that level 60 becomes more raid/group oriented (I agree with this 1 point)
People like to bash the top dog and WoW is the #1 MMORPG right now as far as sales/subscribers are concerned
And whats really sad is the way people treat MMO's like politics...if you play one you somehow can't like another or you're a traitor or left/right sided wing...really sad folks
Everquest 2 boards filled with WoW hate, WoW boards filled with EQ2 hate..vise versa for many MMO's its silly and fanboism at its best
The previous MMORPGs i've played like Asheron's call had no endgame, the level cap was 275 and the only people reaching that type of levels were BOTS that XP farmed which is one of the reasons I quit Asheron's Call but anyway, once you reach level 275 in Asherons Call that's it, theres really no endgame.
Guild Wars has PVP endgame and few elite areas which also require groups, the groups don't take hours to find like WoW but still I left right before battlegrounds in WoW so maybe I would have had something else to do. I guess its the heavy item/weapon/armor factor of WoW that causes it so much grief because if you want to do well in WoW you need to have decent gear to do it with and most of that gear is found from doing Raids.
Currently playing GUild Wars but still much respect to my previous games, Asheron's Call love ya but hate the bots and developers who don't seem to care about controllin it....World of Warcraft...great game better overall and more balanced than Asheron's Call but got bored at level 60.
Actually this is the point i know i and ppl i know quit the game for.
First its a complete contrast to what you meet while levelling .It comes out like a casual friendly game but at 60 it changes to a hardcore raid game which is almost a must if you want to pvp(i get to the pvp soon).
Even if you are a raider like me this gets boring fast.Why?
1)there are only 4 raid zones- AQ,bwl,mc and ZF.Of which get very boring very fast.And mc and bwl are not very eciting after you done it a few times.You would think if blizzard decided to make the end game so raid/gear oriented they would at least focus on making more raid zones.It can be very boring recycling 4 zones for months upon months.
2)You must love raiding.Thats just a fact.Since gear means so much in this game(i can't honestly think of any other mmo that is so heavily dependant on gear when it comes to pvp) you must keep raiding.
3)it requires 40 man raids for some of the raid zones.A nightmare to get going even in an organised guild.It also means it takes longer to get what you want as most guilds use dkp(the only fair way to share loot).This means you will most likely farm for many months to be fully epicced and by then blizzard will add another teir meaning more months of raiding.
There are other factors.One is crafting.Its too simple .Which is not a big deal .But it is also almost worthless apart from enchanting .Even then i was an enchanter.Try grinding faction for those nice reciepes and you see what i mean.
The pvp is where blizzard could have done well.Though only 9 classes in the game they are all pretty unique.I dunno who been here since launch but originally pvp had no rewards .When it got started it was a gushian curve pvp.Again this requires you to be hardcore.You have to literally log in daily to be able to ever dream of making it to the higher ranks.Go on holiday for 2 weeks and you are stomped.
No matter ,i for one was excited finally some pvp rewards which would encourage more pvp.But the small BG(apart from av which is not even really big) which require a queue to get into and many times end in under 30 mins is really not much fun.
For pvp i really think DAoC has the right idea IMHO.
Anyhow this are the factors that finally made me quit but if people still enjoy the game thats all that matters.Not ratings .
actually, i liked the graphics of WoW.
actually, while it was too easy it was also very polished with lots of humor and incredible zone design.
actually... while i liked the game from lvl 1-60 wich consisted of lots of small group dungeons and also solo play,
i was totally taken aback by the Everquestish endgame approach.
actually... if the devs would have been upfront about the endgame, i would never have bhought WoW in the first place. they marketed it as a casual game where raiders and non raiders would get similar gear, only the raiders gear was supposed to look cooler/have particle effects etc..... however they performed a bait and switch after release.
just a big dent in Blizzard reputation. and don t take me wrong, there s nothing wrong about a raidgame, a lot of people like it. However marketing it as a casual game that also has a pvp focus as they did and then pulling an EQ clone on us later is just very very poor form.
as such i d expect the ratings to drop further as more and more of the casual gamer crowd reach lvl 60.

I am a raider but and thought the raid areas were very limited and boring.I recall someone say oh you got to think to raid.
Totally untrue .The tactics are all known and well published .The only thig you need to worry about is 1)do you guys have the gear for the mob 2)are people listening to raid leader.
Its like any pve game one guild/group finds the solution to kill x mob and then rest of us copy and paste doing it.Any mmorpg with a raid mob follow that formula.You know why?because the mob is static.He is sitting in same position,same stats,same attack special.So any group using similar gear and tactics will nearly always win(used word nearly always because i am counting misforunate sitatuation like someone not listening,a ld).
I used to play World Of Warcraft And stopped playing for a bunch of reasons.
1; Cartoon Graphics
2;Lag-Server Down-World Server down- and more lag
3; They have terrible customer support
4;And alot of immature people playing
fun game though
i would like the game alot more if they did better on those things.

Your mentally challenged if you think WoW is that incredible. Play Oblivion, it's a single player game that makes a mockery of WoW. and stands as proof the future is looking bright for MMORPG's.
I can't stand morons that harass people about thier spelling. There is one here that critcised earlier and he didn't even have his sentence correct. If you are going to complain about peoples spelling or sentences at least get yours right!.
The ratings for WOW on this site has been sabotaged by people playing other mmorpg's. People can argue about it but it is pretty much a fact, they do it so they can get new people to play thier mmorpg instead.
WoW is unparalleled mmo success, but I think the reason its downward spiral has already begun is two fold:
It attracts a more casual gamer and until 60 you can play as a casual without many problems but the reality is that at 60 the raid grind sets in, be you a PvE entusiast or a PvPer looking for gear. The casual who has a place upto 60 quickly finds an absence of worthwhile content, bringing up the second problem:
The grind is just not compelling. This is my subjective opinion but I really think that most people who enjoy the hardcore grind will eventually come to the same conclusion (or already have). EQ was the true "grinding" game but at least it kept my attention. The WoW grind is mindless, there is really no intrigue, challenge, or any other aspect to keep you engulfed to a degree where you're willing to spend so many hours online.
I hope WoW keeps all the "ph33r my l33tness u n00b" players satisfied for a loooong time, it will keep them off of other mmos
WoW is a great game with great things about it. For me, I loved the graphics, loved the 5-10 people instances at lvl 60, and for a while even loved the pvp system (until it gets repetative and boring, but what can you expect when world pvp is non-existant for the most part or too easy, and there are only 3 battlegrounds).
What hurts WoW, and the reasons I quit, is the horrible end game content. There are really only 3 raid instances (not counting ZG, AQ20, or Ony since I've been in a 10 player ony kill), that begin to run together into one large instance if you play them enough. They are incredibly easy, you kill a boss once and that's effectively it, they're pretty much on farm status. Even Cthun, which my guild had troubly on for about a week, killed once, been killed ever week since when we feel like doing AQ. Part of being able to do end game is the feeling of accomplishment, that you've done something that so many others haven't. That feeling is taken away when the challenge is so low that all you need is a guild with enough people, doesn't matter if they like each other and communicate well and the players have limited idea of how to play their class. PvP became too easy after getting tier 2 gear. For the most part, those pvping hardcore did not have time to get raid gear and the pvp gear did not compare. First few games, 1 or 2 shotting people is fun. Do it over and over, and you wish that your opponents could get some half-decent gear (5-10 player instances do not count, the gear does not compare). Then comes the lag, the servers are just aweful for lag. I played EQ2 with less lag and that's a much more demanding game in terms of your computer (and I didn't have to lower the graphics to raise performance). The community is aweful on many servers, including my home server (though there are exceptions, I had an alt on another server that had an amazing community for the most part, nothing like EQOA or EQ2's community but in fairness, it was very enjoyable).
I don't see how people can bash the game for graphics. Quality > Graphics. But WoW's graphics follows the trend of the Warcraft series and it looks great (to me anyways).

Maybe there wouldnt be so much WoW bashing if their community werent such assholes and go on the forums screaming, "WOW R T3H BEST MMO EVAR U DONT KNO SHIT BOUT MMO's OMG."

I know there are Problems with PvP servers and the roxx0r community.
I don't understand someone with an extreme hate of a game will rate everything at a 1. Hell I don't like WoW, but I thought things through before I rated it. Hell I gave the graphics a 6 cause they were nice to look at, but at the same time not the greatest. (And though I hated the game I had fun with it (Thusly getting an 8 in the fun department.) The things that really brought down the rating on wow for me was the community that I ran into the customer service, and when most of the servers I've been on lagged or crashed, that kinda did it in for me. (Not to meantion when people rollplay its bassically cyboring in the deeprun tram.)
P.S. The OP is an idiot though, and probably a fanboi that doesn't see anything wrong that blizzard throws out. If blizzard made a game where all you did was throw money at them and that was it. I bet he'd love it. Wile others will say "Whats the whole idea of thowing money at you?"
