I would say Dark & Light, but I'm just going to move to my second most hated, because I can't be bothered to write an essay.
I'll just mention what I hated with DDO. I received the game at launch, and started in a guild before I even started playing. It looked good from the box, and I was determined to do my best to enjoy it. After seven hours of continuous gaming, I hated the way it was made. The city is cramped, instancing is annoying (I played EQ2, and you didn't load that often, at least the zones were big).
There were things I did like about it though, like how you can you certain weapons on certain mobs, like maces work best on skeletons, whilst bladed weapons are better on say... a zombie.
WoW- cartoonish graphics which to me spoils a rpg,and lack of depth. EQ2- didn't like graphics style or the give 100 unfun quests. EQ- Went too raid focused, and completely different from the original game. Dragonraja- poorly translated and masochistic clickfest. Legend of Ares- clickfest and poor graphics, graphics isn't a big deal but if it doesn't offer anything more or different why would I want to play that over something with better graphics?. Anarchy Online- didn't like sci fi theme. AC2- vitality sucked! and not really enough people. Tradeskills were repetitive, and the content of the game seemed very well developed at the start but later on not so impressive. Earth and Beyond- fantasy abilities applied to ships, and a bit linear.
Horrible communities, raw grind with little variation in hunting choices, terrible lag, and hackers/botters/farmers.
Each of those has chased me off one MMO or another.
Lag is very irritating these days, I'm too used to high quality speed. Grind is normal, and even tolerable if all other conditions are right. The community is important to keep my mind off the grind. Not asking for utopian society, just that many players have a modicum of respect and having fun more than grinding to be #1. Hackers/botters/farmers kill any MMO where a player economy could be a major part of the fun. Any MMO that keeps this under control certainly has a lot to be said for the staff.
In the end, if the game is without much lag, it's hackers that bother me most, followed by a bad community.
Although the "gfx vs. gameplay" debate is a dead horse, I do find that I'm getting a bit more picky about the quality of graphics in games than I used to. Perhaps that is because the bar has been raised considerably, what are others thoughts on that? I play quite a bit of retro games, maybe I've overplayed them a bit .
Also maybe interface falls under the graphics category, but after playing World of Warcraft and EQ2 which both have highly customisable interfaces I tend to look for games that have a similar set up. Oh and they must have autorun function .
Thing is you put a lot of hours into these types of games, they may as well be great to look at and have a user friendly design.

COx - no variation in mobs, everything is humanoid. very limited variety of mission maps. could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?
I won't list each game individually... in general, 3 things have consistantly gotten me to leave games-
Community- ignorant, immaturity, cursing, and blatant violations of the the TOS in regard to chat channels and harrassment.
Grindfest- it gets old... and after maxxing the frist character I have to really sit there and decide if I REALLY want to do all that over again. Usually the answer is no.
End game raiding PvP zergs- Who decides that the endgame should be all about massive herds of people lagging out the area or fighting over who has the best leadership abilities or equipment? AND... it usually takes hours of coordination, waiting, and arguments to even assemble the groups needed, even if you're in a big guild. (DAoC RvR, WoW Raid Dungeons, and GW high-end areas come to mind.) Endgames seem to be awful, in general (by "end game", I refer to the gameplay after you reach the level cap).

It's surprising for me that almost every major MMORPG on the market received a negative vote (and this vote was sustained usually by lots of reasons). Well now I understand when people says they will quit the MMORPG genre for a while...because I feel the same...almost all the games I played weren't good enough for a reason or another (well except the original pre CU Star Wars Galaxies that I just loved - but that is only my opinion)...
Indeed I played Dungeons& Dragons Online for a while with high hopes (it was D&D!!) but that stupid city bored me quickly...and btw: is there any Dragon in that game?
WoW is indeed like a Cartoon Network game...
Now I'll try the Saga of Ryzom...let's see if it's any good at all...(and btw: I think ALL companies should offer a free trial period: they can't expect you to buy accounts, and give them money, before playing at least for few hours).
Yes kids could be pretty annoying sometimes isn't it?...however we should remember they HAVE the right to play games too...and since the internet is an open space it is impossible not to met them

erm... companies do expect you to give them money... they do it... although I have found that many do offer a free trial at start up, but also ask for your payment information so they can bill you the very second your free period is up... oh well...

AC2 - felt like you were playing a third of the game it was supposed to be. Did the same damned quests over and over again. Game that you tried hard to like, but couldn't. It felt doomed.
UO - got to be like playing 3rd rate Diablo. Had a lot of depth but was just miles behind the times with the immersion and fun factor. Got old.
AO - nowhere near being the game that was promised. Soon turned into sci-fi EQ. They came with some wonderful videos that expanded on the Clan-Omni thing, but that just died in the arse. Getting back to a mission after you died got old very fast.
EQ - got old. Having to fetch your corpse is a relic from another age.
1. Frame rate/lag : Simple, I can't play a game if the frame rate is 10 fps or you have to wait for a few seconds until a button is really pressed. 2. Grind: Repeating a process over and over again to gain the next level. Why is that? 3. Comunity: If I can't relate to people I probable can't interact with them. 4. Gameplay: I like some originality so if its the same old shit i'm not interested. 5. Artwork: the graphics don't have to be high standard but a suprising artwork can keep me interested.
When I played WoW I absolutely despised that fact that you pretty much solo'd all the way to 60. The MMO aspect of the game was sorely lacking until 60 when you have to group anyway. Weird.
Everything being simple and one-linear. Everyone go the same way.
Immature people due to the games being so easy to reach. Attracts too many kids.
It's all about levels and items.

Community was the huge factor for the games I played,WoW, Guild Wars,Runescape, Eq2 ( quiet but anal community), These were just aweful. Saga of Ryzom and Horizons had a very good people all around.
All the MMORPG games iv played are really not that bad it just teh customer serveruis an teh gaem get on my nerfs, i cant play games very lonmg without gettin bored

My biggest pet peave in any MMO is any dev who's idea of a quest is "go kill 10 X and bring back Y".
I was designing entire worlds at the age of 13 when I DM'd for my friends. There is absolutely no excuse for making a 'quest' that is that mind numbingly boring. It's ok to make quests with the goal of killing a monster but at least make it interactive and more compelling than "go kill x and get y'.

The things I personally hate about some MMO's are definitley crappy communitys with little punks that enjoy calling every character a noob at the first chance they can get. Crappy graphics annoy me, but are not one of my strongest complaints, I feel a game is much more immersive the more real the enviorment your standing in-game is. Also a good leveling system with variety, A constant grind of being in the same zone with the same monsters is something no one wants to do, and when you do that for a few straight hours it just makes you want to quit. I would also definitley have to agree with the above post, thats seriously boring.
When things are not explained in detail to me. I don't have to be held by the hand, but I do want to know what every stat does, how equipment works etc. I hate getting my character to lvl 30 only to find out I did something wrong and have to start all over again because I forgot something.
My hatred of raiding comes from my days in EQ, which was my first mmorpg. In the early days I loved that game so much I literally couldn't get enough of it. But over time it changed into a game that basically required you to join a big player organization and spend an inordinate amount of time on those long, boring raids.
God I hate raiding so much. It's so...damn...boring. And I hate being treated like a flunky by some pre-pubescent, struting, little jerk. I hate the fact that the worst and most obnoxious players in a game can be the most successfull simply by being willing to go on raids and showing up.
And even if I liked the people who are drawn to raids as a way to coast along and could tolerate the boredom; when you get right down to it raiding is just not my idea of what fantasy adventure should be. Milling around in a whole crowd of people and being led around by the nose so that you don't have to think for yourself as you overwhelm things with numbers.....that's not adventure. It's more like punching a time card when you show up for work in a factory and then keeping a low profile and trying to look busy so that the foreman doesn't chew you out.
I'm not saying that everything else about EQ was perfect. To be honest I think the whole nature of EQ type games is antiquated now and the genre should be moving on to deeper and more complex games (should be). But raiding is the thing I learned to hate the most while playing EQ. I passed on WoW in large part because I knew it was going to be all about raiding at the end as well. And I'll pass on any game that forces people to raid or be left behind.
