CAMPING!

Do you guys think camping will be a issue in EQII? It killed EQI for me and probably made 2ooo others leave.::L^(::

The only thing that will stop people from camping one area is if the company has the monster on an "Open" spawn.  Not spawn in one area, but spawning over the entire zone.  That way it gives fair chance to those that do not want camping, and deter those that love to camp.

Granted it will make it harder for quest items and such, but it's a quest, quests in general should not be easy.

Some of this will be alleviated by instancing as well.

Say for instance you need to kill the goblin king and get his necklace for a quest.  You go with a party and get your own instanced version of the dungeon to work your way in and kill him rather then waiting in line behind people who camp him for hours and hours so they can sell off the loot.

Yeah.  Anarchy Online has this and World of Warcraft will have it as well.  Thanks Misti image

the reason there was camping in eq was that there was a small area where monsters spawned and they would have a chance of the "named" coming with uber leet items, everyone wanted it so they got there asap so others coujldnt take, then people would argue if the grup had to evac and such...it goes on and on..some peple dont believe in camps and just pull if they see something spawn *btw my "o"s are messed up* although this "camping" wasnt too big of a problem for me

EQ I has cheated me outta so much o' my life with a tremendous end game let down that I'd rather not even give sony any more money. HORIZON's, MYTHICA, World of Warcraft .. HERE I COME!!!!

I will never understand posts like Mentat's.  If you hated the game so much why did you waste so much of your life playing it?  If it was so boring to play on your way to the end game, why did you think the end game would be any different?  Was it really such a bad game if you enjoyed it enough to play all that time even if the end wasn't all you had hoped it would be?

I will chalk this up like many of the others who played countless hours loving the game play but then decided Sony hates them and created a crap game.  He probably loved the game then encountered some piece that really aggravated him and made the game no longer desirable.  When you love something so much you tend to get angry when it doesn't fulfill all your hopes.

Well, I'll try to explain. I played this game for years. The newness of everything was great, the game play was neat BUT, at the high end game you find that if you are not highly political and a desired class... Well you spend hours being aggrovated. I feel cheated... Like I worked so hard and put in so many hours just to be looking for group for hours on end all the time. Can't do the really big cool stuff unless you are in one o' the largest guilds with the bestest char etc... And whoah if you are a casual player..Forget the end game entirely. Also, as many have said, it's now just a bunch of pl'rs and such. I hope that helps you understand.

Its nice to know they are working to alleviate the camping issue for EQII.

Actually, camping was a good thing (in my opinion) in EQ1.  Camping meant that between spawns there was nothing to do but socialize with your group and that made the game come to life.  Also, there was nothing more exciting that having to be on your toes in a dungeon shared with others who might mess up and pull a train.  Sharing dungeons is cool.  Instanced dungeons or constant fighting is not cool.  I've played many MMORPG's and have found EQ to be the one with the "magical feel" to it.  I hope the new game has some degree of camping.  I wish it would have trains.

ive seen many mmorpgs that dont have a camping issue

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
