I´ve read that there will be PvP, PvE and RP servers...
But will there be European servers or only US servers?
Or perhaps are the plans to solve the international thingies in another way?
I got som bad experience as a european and playing on US servers (Lineage 2).
And Im not gonna bore you with all the political discussions
, but the biggest problem was the playing hours.
All friends I got there was almost inpossible to play with, thanks to the stupid 10 hours differance (or something like that) and the same happaned with the famous(?) castlesiege´s as they was at 4am for me (in sweden).
What NCsoft did, was to open up a US server, but with european time´s and that helped abit, allthough it was tolate for me as I didnt wanna reroll. But its a good way of solving it, if there isnt a way of open up servers in europe at release.
sorry if this has been dicussed before, tryed to find some info about it, but failed.

Nelson, doesn't Simutronics self-publish their games? I heared a rumor that they will be doing the same with Hero's Journey.
Anyone else notice that the 'Hero's' in Hero's Journey is a giant typo either?
that's a bit of a myth these days actually, in most cases now, there's virtually no difference between us and euro servers. I can play on usa servers for unreal tournament with no problem, and play the usa servers for dark age of camelot, and i live in the uk. it's really not as much an issue as it was 5 years or so back.

No it isn't. The s is a possessive and not a plural. Remember we're trying to make your journey unique to you and not just a journey for the masses.
Also it's easy to self publish their previous game since there is no software to purchase. You download them straight from their launcher utility. We'll probably need a publisher for something as large scale as an MMO. Especially in the overseas market, because content laws are different everywhere you go. Blood and gore is a no no in many places.

Hero's Journey.
Playing on your best playing hours (early evenings), only to find out everybody else is heading to work (in the morning) or heading to bed as a result of time differences is really crappy. And all planed events on US servers is usually not planed after EU time, and that means alot of missed events for us, I guess.
So all off you "off-site" GMs, got tell your bosses that a EU-dedicated server (prefered EU-stationed in a latency perspective) is something that should be considered.
...well, I must admit that I will probably play it whatever happens

As for events, one advantage we'll have is that our GM staff are from all over, at least one of the world team members is from Germany right now, so we'll have GM staff on at pretty much any time of day.
"Yes, but if that server is in the US (and since it would be a US server I'm guessing it would) your ping and latency tends to go to craptola. If HJ is planning for a European release, they should have at least 1 dedicated server there."
That is not entirely true. Most of the time in mmos latency is not that important like FPS games. Also most of the times you get pretty good latency to the east coast.
