Free MMORPG's

Hello all,

               First off would like to say Hi to everyone, my name is Brock aka koldiak which is my ingame nick, okay guys I'm relatively new to this type of stuff but I am very intrigued, I was wondering if there is any good FREE MMORPG's I could try, It's not that I wouldn't mind paying if the game was good but well I just would like to see what ones are out there for free.

 

If anyone has played Fate & Destiny, I like games like that.

    It's really hard to find a good mmorpg that is free. There are enough p2p games that are still lame, so free ones wouldn't be better. There are alot of problems with free games:

    • No money for good servers -> no dedicated servers or slow servers
    • No money for programers and designers -> not really good gameplay or gfx
    • No money for development -> slow dev progress

    So I don't think there are much good free games. I tried some and didn't found a good one. You could search by yourself, just read the "Free MMORPGs list" that is sticky in this forum section.

    The problems with free mmorpgs is that there will be massive cheating ramprant and hacks all over the place.

    Yet, abusers will take advantages of free services and ruin it for the people who cannot obtain credit/debit cards, have a bank acount.

    Its what happend with Mankind. They put up a free trial account and:
    "alot of people use them to attack other players in Imperial systems"

    You can try Shattered Galaxy if you're interested in RTS, it's a MMORTS and it's free with a catch.

    if you cant find a way to pay the measly $10-15 a month for an mmorpg, then i guess its just not for you

    Unfortunately, not everyone earns American dollars for a living and a 'measly' $10-15 dollars a month is a burden for many.

    Yes, I get annoyed when people refer to that 10-15 a month as measly. It still is expensive, 120 bucks a year if the game cost 10 bucks isn't cheap, that still costs cash. Some people just can't afford it, and then people want to play multiple games, then it get's even more expensive. Some people just can't do it, so they look to free ones.

    Guild Wars, which isn't expected till july or something like that, is going to be a game with no monthly payment, but you just have to buy the game via the game store.

    Well just hit an old pc store grab Ultima Online for a few bucks, seen one at Salvation army for $1 us. Then do a free uo shard search there's a few of them out there still. I think It's on Free Download trial right now on there site also.
