First year date. Ideas needed.

So as the title reads out, the first year date approaches and i am out of ideas.

As of right now i believe i have trumped myself way early in the relationship. On our second or third month we went to Riverview Island, its not as fancy as it sounds.

Went to her house, about 20 minutes away, blind-folded her and then took drove to the island which was set up. This was all done around dusk, by the time we arrived the sun had fallen and that wasnt the plan. We were supposed to watch the sun set.

The items there were 4 tiki torches, a blanket sprawled out, some wedding cake scented candles (that she enjoyed) which created a walk-way. Within the walk-way of scented candles there was a heart shape in the middle of it, and we dined on tuna and macaroni salad, water and subway subs.

ps. the date took place 5 feet from the waters edge.

-- For our one yaer i want to do something romantic and off beat like this. It wasnt something she was expecting, so it played out perfectly.

-- Im sure a lot of you guys out there have had similar experiences and I was hopnig a few of you could drop your two cents and give me a heads up. Would love to hear it!

well what you did was pretty cool but why not go for something a little more simple this time with a candle lite dinner that you made yourself it might not be over the top but it is romantic and if u really wanna add a lil extra go to your florist and get some rose petals they usually go for a dollar a bag and lay them down from the door way to the table where the dinner is add some music and you should be fine.

this time take her to a place shes never even imagined you would go.

for example a hotspring spa type thing, not one in a town but one that is out of town and in the woods.

and buy an expensive bottle of wine or something like that.

but out in the natural is good.

but it has to be an overnighter.

but my gf and i did something special for our one year.

i set up a very romantic date and at the end i put most of my knives that she hated me having(shit load of switchblades of all sorts, butterflies, boot knives) that she hated me having a lot. and i threw them in our big mud(our "river" in my town) and told her i would never fight unless it was absolutely necessary again.

a personal gesture showing her how important she is to you and how much for the better shes changed you is a good idea.

but right now i am perspectively in the doghouse cus im smoking now so i dont know about the merit in my advice

I'm looking along the lines of something a little more romantic ish.

like, lets say. We're roller blading and oh, hey! whats that picnic basket doing with all my favorite foods!?!

That type of thing, you know?

If anyone has any personal experience with this stuff please jump out of the water at any time

Also, just any ideas you think may work in general, cause some of them could be molded into some form of super-date

Find a church with an underpaid organ player, then pay him $100 to start playing "I knew I loved you before I met you" by Savage Garden. You then proceed to stand up and sing it to her in front of everyone. By the middle of the song, the rest of the congregation will join you in singing. Then at song's end, you get down on one knee, and pull out the wedding ring. There's no way she could say no.

Oh, and sorry for being absolutely no help, I'm not the romantic type.

Humm. I will have to brainstorm one for you.

Ok KT, we are going to take this in 1 mode and 3 steps. I want you to orginaze what type of event you want to happen and list those three steps to events in order. Then I can kinda brainstorm a G.A.M.E. Plan for you. Here are the choices you can pick.

I can't think of any other steps to think up (becuase I just woke up), but I will update when I figure out somthing. Ok, just make 2 events (each with three steps in order). Trust me, Rikimaru will cook up somthing for you.

I don't know if this is this best advice to give, but something I believe makes a quite impact is:

1. Do all the blindfold and such things, and take her to an ordinary place. Most probably she will get a bit disapointed, but will try to hide it, and you will pretend you don't notice it.

2. Then, when that part of the date is over, you offer to take her home. By that time, when she is less expecting it, you take her to a romantic place to do romantic things... however, she musn't guess you're taking her to such a place, so it would be better to take her somewhere near her house, or even prepare something in her house... don't ask me how, just do it...

I don't know, but that could be a good idea, I guess.

Sounds like you're really good at coming up with ideas on your own mang. Better then I could but heck I'll try...

Take a bath in jello with scented candles and mood music.

Something like this is what i am referring to. Subtle, yet romantic.

- I could even rent a movie, or grab a small radio... something unique.

Middle of the night or something set up a picnic in her backyard, leave clues or a trail of rose buds to the back door (if she has one?) and when she opens the door be outside, sitting, or standing or whatever by the picnic...in like flint.

Another decent idea...

I like the idea of bringing her somewhere and her not expecting it to be a bust. Though I dont want to see her upset or so throughout the rest of the date.

I love the ideas, and will be mixing some of these.

Keep 'em comin guys, those who post with thought are extremely talented and have come up with creative ideas

There are a lot more views than posts...we need to change this

Ahhhh I wanted to say that... find a place that she would never expect to find beauty like the projects (safe area).. some where you scoped out..
crowded city at night... Proceed to the roof of the building.. or an area that has a great view of the sky... or a great view period... where you will have a beautiful picknic set up and waiting ... with a kind of tent set up.. made of cloth and everything... and candels and food... and comphy pillows..
