This is kind of off topic. But, I own a Sony Vaio. Do you all hate me? I just wanted to know

It depends when you bought it. If it was before November 3, 2005, you're ok. lol.
If you bought it after that, well we wouldn't hate you, be dissappointed perhaps, lol.
Just kidding of course, while I personally won't purchase any sony products, I know that's a bit extreme (even if fully justified).
I dont hate you for purchasing products from the companies of your choosing. The reason alot off ppl do not buy sony products anymore is because of their unethical business practices.
Not because they messed up a online game. Because they have lied about products they have sold. Such as advertising expansions with certain content in them and after you buy it...2 days later they announce they are doing away with that content. Very unethical and imo illegal.
The list goes on and on when it comes to issues like that.
Alot off ppl wont do business with SOE because of double billing. When I was playing SWG there was several times over the course of 2.5 yrs that friends account were double billed. Paying double the monthly fee for one account. You would be surprised how many ppl miss that "mistake" and pay it.
Lets face it. If other companies operated like many online game companies, they would be put out of business. Maybe with mmorpgs gaining steam over the last couple years, there will be more monitoring of the biz.

i actually went out and bought 2 new VAIO's in 2003 so my son and i could play SWG.
now in 2006, since our game is dead (btw my son is 9 and hates the NGE even more than me), i got me a new Mac and Sony products are no longer allowed in my home.
i am 35, been loyallly buying sony prod's since the 80's. SWG singlehandedly killed my loyalty to sony and badly scarred my love for Star Wars.

Yeah, but people don't think poorly of Sony because of its unethical practices so much as they release crappy and destructive products. So, while the cause may be unethical practices people are only concerned with the outcome.I dont hate you for purchasing products from the companies of your choosing. Seriously I bought a Sony Vaio back in 2002 and it was the worst experience imagineable.
At the time I was in the military and was deploying to the desert. I bought the laptop specifically for this trip. 2 weeks into it, the thing was overheating so bad (in an air conditioned tent) that the P4 processor was throttling back from 2.0GHz to 700MHz. It couldn't even play a DVD from overheating. I put it in my locker for 3 months until my return. WHen I finally got back and sent it in, they had to replace a heat shield and did some other work. A while after that, it got sent in for bad RAM solder connections, after that the hard drive failed....note this was a long story short. 3 hardware failures = no lemon policy with the Best Buy extended warranty. I got to choose an equal value laptop for replacement....I went with a Gateway....Now I am not too crazy about Gateway desktops, but I have had this laptop since last september and it has run flawlessly.
So that is 2 bad experiences for me with a Sony product....the NGE....and a brand new laptop that sat in a locker for three months.....I don't know how their laptops are doing now, but my Vaio experience was very bad.
That about does it for Sony in my mind....No more Sony products.
Totally true....
Sony's unethical business practices wouldn't even come to light if they put out quality products.
