(Vote) Would you play a NEW Star Wars MMO?

With the recent editorial release, and the well known by everyone in the MMO community of the problems with SOE/LA and their respect to the player base.  I am curious that if the rumors of a "sequal" to SWG were true, would there be any player base left to support it?  And if so what stipulations would you put on it to play it?

Assuming this is a NEW GAME! and not a roll back or a revision (such as the CU or the NGE)....

I voted no, since I have been tainted forever by the touch of a certain company.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"

I have a sneaking feeling that SWG II will be a LOT like World of Warcraft. The sandbox seamless worlds will be replaced by a gazillion zones, instances, etc.

It's logical, because look at how desperate SOE is to make SWG into a WOW clone right now.

I voted yes. But under a certain circumstance that the only companies that could be involved were LA, Bioware and/or NCSoft.

I think youre refering to that DC Comics MMO. Its basically Project Entropia with a DC skin. Youll need real cash to buy things like Batcomputers, Batelectricity, Batfuel, Batsocks, and Batcaves, oh and Joker laughing gas.

I didn't vote as an option for my view isn't there. I won't play a level/class/loot game and it doesn't matter how well it is made as that just isn't for me, so it would have to be more like the orginal SWG but even if it was like the orginal SWG if SoE was involved I wouldn't play it either. I've seen their arrogance, their buisness morals and how they treat a sandbox style game. Also if Obraik is right and it was set up so 'you would use RL cash to buy items and such...' then I wouldn't touch it at all, just like Project Entropia.

    hmmm...

i would give it a go , but i will never pre-pay a SOE product again , month to month for me sub, then cancel the next day and then wait till i cant log in to re sub. And wont ever buy anything from them UNLESS it can be store bought as every time they offer a digital thingy they screw the people over.

Anothe rfactor would be the management team - smed and grant then the answer weould change to no. I just dont personally beleive they have what it takes to successfully drive a game to success anymore.

Amazing that before SWG i never really paid attention to who the devs were except to say oh thats the guy who did this or that cool! Now its what have they done before, how did it work , its no coincidence how NGE is being developed as they brought in the guys who killed UO and EQ to be devs. Sadly i pay attention now to who is on what team. Instead of just saying that game looks cool i want to know who is running the dev end ...

There needs to be  a maybe...I can't be the only one undecided on that issue...a lot of factors would have to be considered like: Do they have the class(s) I like, is the combat system good, is SOE involved, ect ect.?

I would have to say no .. Especially if they make it like WOW or GW ... Instances, 0 complexity ...

Definitely not my style of game ...

Had to answer no.  The only way I would consider playing is if SOE wasn't involved AND it was the original preCU game.

As long as SOE/LA/Julio torres/Smedly or anyone else related to SWG currently is involved i wont even look at it on the shelf. Far as im concerned the best star wars games are made by other companies I.E kOTOR 1 and 2.  Cracks me up how SOE knows this with all there ripping off of KOTOR past and present.

Absolutely...as long as SOE had nothing to do with it. Option 1 ftw.

I agree.  It seems like alot of games are going the same route to campete with WoW.  I personally dont like Linear gamplay, and since I wont buy another game that has SOE anywhere near it...

I vote No.  I will not play another Star Wars MMO that is either linear or made by SOE.  And especially if it both.

I voted yes but only if SOE wasn't involved. However i would have liked an option for "yes if SOE wasn't involved and it was like the original release" but I think SOE is the bigger evil!

I voted the first option. sony has destroyed my loyalty to its brand. no more software related with sony. i love star wars very much, but i have come to hate sony even more.

If NC Soft was making it, I'd preorder right now.

I don't like it when you say things. - A Vanguard fan who does too.
