Here's hoping that the dev team doesn't bow down to the politically correct crowd when fleshing out the Warhammer Online Universe. In the US it seems there are political action groups ready to take up arms and declare war against a company for nearly any reason.
Games are labled to have too much violence, or too explit ect. I really hope Mythic can stand their ground and create the WH universe with all the grit and grime that the lore portrays. In DAoC, I was forever amazed that I, as a troll for example, would recieve a request to deliver mail for poor little Suzy that lost her lute! That is of course totally contrived, but many "quests" were in this generic, try not to offend anyone style, that in the end simply made DAoC like an over cooked roast with too many ingredients.... bland.
I've heard good things so far, but wondering what safe guards Mythic has in place to ensure that their content teams don't start swinging the politically correct bat?

If the country falls apart we can put it back together again without a problem. American Inginuity! Look what we did to the machine gun, after all.
Ok as a person who has been said to have bad typing i hate you lol. He can type how he wants, granted I think he should die for saying such things about the land of the free. But as i say he can type how he wants.
But now back to the topic: They already said they were going to have quests where you go out and kill three dwrfs and cut off there beards and bring them back for gold and exp. Also with quests like "bring the giant beer" I think we have nothing to worry about and this game will go smoothly and any protesters will shut the fuck up when i come to there house with a gun threating them for protesting. Lol gl all and I hope you don't protest for your sake.
p.s. Your not making you guild look very good with flamming like this its not very good for your guild to see you acting like a whinie *** hole
ROFL. . . I just don't know what to say to that, other than if you thought THAT was a flame, HAH wait till something pissess me off.
Also, I don't give two rat's turds what you think of how I make my guild look and I'm gonna bet our guildies care even less.
Furthermore, there's no excuse for that eye-sore of a mess puked into a thread. People judge others by the only methods available, in this case writing skills. A class it seems you both slept through. Sorry, we disagree. I'm not going to further reply to this as its FAR off topic from the thread starting post. Please go hijack a different one.
Bye bye

Good Lord!
A bit of an overreaction, don't you think?
I read the post in question and i could understand perfectly what he wanted to say, the only tiny bit of problem was the "sue" spelled "sews" but beside that.... pretty understandable.
So i'm quite amazed by such an harsh reaction and you say you are not flaming? ah good then eh? I mean implying that the US are going downhill because of this person writing skill is not a flame nowaday? So what it is? Constructive criticism?
On the topic: The game has support of all GW people, including special operative Paul Barnet.
So it will be as politically correct as Warhammer is, sans the extra gore and blood typical of the novels and RPG but totally absent from the TT.
"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime"
No, actually my response was quite tame.
On Topic: I understand what you're saying there, but I was curious (maybe I didn't write it clearly enough) what safeguards are in place, or what process the dev team is using to ensure that Wazsmella Skabbietoof the ork isn't delivering daisys for Pollyanna.
On big projects like this one most certainly is, it's very easy to miss small things like the above example (obvious hyperbole ), and at times as a project team grows it can get a very nasty case of the SEPs (somebody else's problem). Then as the deadline draws and the teams look at their deliverables, suddenly in the context of the situation delivering daisys for Pollyanna might seem not terribly wrong to the team.
Now, in light of political pressures, time deadlines, fan noise... what is Mythic doing to ensure that they remain true to the GW vision. I guess that would be the question and I doubt we'll get a real answer here, so the effort of typing this will likely be ineffectual. Hence, if I take the time to create an interesting conversation (warning off topic hehe: don't puke in it ).

I see your point and hopefully the GW people are taking care of this.
At least that seemed the case in the big MMorpg.com preview and the interviews at the E3 (take particular note about the various differences in the quests).
To summarize, the quest described was as banal as you can imagine, a old lady asked if you could kindly go to the shop downtown and pick up a cake for her. The results that paul barnet described were really hilarious... and nowhere as politically correct as one could fear from such a sweetie sweetie quest.
Of course that is intention and we will have to see implementation, but with people like him taking care of the game health, i am quite positive on it
"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime"
I know for a fact that Mythic will try to keep the game as violent and accurate to the Warhammer IP as they can while keeping a Teen rating.
That's good enough for me.

Once again I am just telling you ha can type how he wants and that I don't like you lol( not cause of your comments but because I am going to play order) But as many people will learn you should care what people think of your guild
ex: what happens if you suddenly piss off acouple of senior members and they leave and make there own guild... How do you replace them and how do you get those few replacments to be as good as the old guys when your guild is not respected/unliked
Also maybe he just doesn't care what you think about him... just a thought. Sorry if it sounded like a flame just expressing my oppion lol.
On topic: I want to point out that mythic after making DAoC sticked to the story and story line they already had unlike Guild wars where factions changed the story to much so I think that mythic will just stick to the liceance and not go off of it
their safeguard is GW owning the franchise .... as we;ve seen before other games which didnt live up to the warhammer experience were scrapped ... and they are working closely with mythic on this .. so the fact that they are excited this time around and there doesnt seem to be any rough water yet in the development of the game is a good thing ...
i think mythic and GW know what the warhammer fans want .. and thats grit ..gore .. and action .. and i think they will deliver it ...
"Time.." I chuckled "I hold no secret to time, though it's mystery puzzles me. Deny it's existence and lie to myself not with hopes of a quickened pace."
But, anyways, I totally agree, people stateside can get quite touchy over certain things, but that's only because, even though nobody admits it, we still have very immature puritainical beliefs. Disagree with anyone who follows a group, or expose anything along the lines of breasts or blood, and everybody is ready to burn you at the stake.
My hope is, however, that Mythic can somehow not be disuaded by ESRB ratings, and just make the damn game, and let the ratings come however it falls. It's Warhammer, not happy-land. Though they may piss off parent groups around the country, I'd much rather they do that than piss off they're fan base. Because if you do that, it shows that you gave in to peer pressure, and robbed your players of the full experience of the world you created.
But I'm starting to ramble, so I'll stop there. I just believe are only as offensive as you make them.
