I remember reading a stat about this and im pretty sure the average age for the game is aroung 17-19. I dont have much credibility but I am sure thats its around there. I hope it answers your questions.emjoy and have fun playing guild wars. ELITE HIPPIES FTW!!!!! wooohooo. ima guild wars fanatic.
The thing is, the "average age" is meaningless unless you have a normal (Guassian) distribution (you've seen what that looks like -- the so-called "bell shaped curve").
To see what I mean, imagine the game is made up entirely (without any exception) of 10 year olds or 24 year olds. The average age would be 17, but there wouldn't be a single 17 year old playing the game.
I think rather than averages it's best to ask sort of what your poll asks -- what's the most (and least) represented age group? Teens, 20s, 30s, 40+? It looks like teens and 20s are the most represented given your small poll, but of course, that could mean that teens and 20s mostly use MMORPG.com, rather than mostly play GW.
I've met people from every age, sometimes I'll be on teamspeak and someone will say; "Just a sec I have to put my kid to bed." or "gotta go guys, school." I'm 16 and I would say the average age is probably in the 17-21 range with many exceptions, people from many different points in life play this game and it's nice because it allows different age groups to interact, sometimes negatively, but never the less it's a nice thing to see!
hmm, If you ask the guild wars players who visit this forum, probably 17-21 if you ask the guild wars players ingame, no way its going to reach above 14....sadly
You really should have had a category of 11-21. Also you should have 11-21 (Mature) and 11-21 (Immature).
My general overview of the average age is 11-21 (Mature) however now and then there is a spike of immature players, these however realise the game is too dificult as you can only have 8 skills and give up, going back to whatever carebear game they came from.
So really it just depends on what month you are asking about. Otherwise its most definately 11-21 Mature. Excluding those in the american random arena districts... they are just a**holes.

You can only be young once, but immature for ever!
i say the age is 15-21, most ppl play around that age, an maturity doesnt really matter in age ever1 was inmature at one time or still is
Whenever i step outside, somebody claims to see the light It seems to me that all of us have lost our patience. 'cause everyone thinks they're right, And nobody thinks that there just might Be more than one road to our final destination--
This game is a 16 - 21 game, although a nice simple, part time game with great graphics, it lacks the complexity and sophisicated social interaction that some MMO's provide, But still a good game.
As for the some people stay imature forever, I dont think so, I think you will find we dont disapear at 30 and watch corry as you may expect, we continue playing these games, we just dont make a cunt of ourselves ingame so everyone knows how l33t we are or that our mam didnt give us the attention we were seeking.

Interesting... my entire guild of over 100 people is over the age of 21 except for a couple of exceptions where our kids play with us. In my guild the average age is somewhere in the 30's I suspect the game average is probably in the 17-21 range though. There ARE a lot of younger folks playing Guild Wars... many of them are more mature than some of the 20+ folks though Most of them certainly have better manners

but then maybe you think using the C-word in a forum counts as sophisticated social interaction, if so, I see where you're coming from
sophisticated intellectually appealing
SocialSocial
living together or enjoying life in communities or organized groups
Interaction
a mutual or reciprocal action; interacting
Let me give you a few examples, SWG pre CU and Probably Ryzom to a degree, SWG required you to be Sociable in order to succeed and enjoy the game, there are other that try very hard but come short of the mark, the reason being is that you could not be a jack of all trades, so as a minimum you had to interact with others to trade the many items you require, and if you approached most of the older players who happened to be the more skilled artisans would not deal with you if you were a bad mannered, uncouth tosser, so you would never have access to the best Armour, weapons food and drink and probably have problems getting your entertainer buffs ect ect...
Guild wars does not require you to be sociable to succeed or enjoy the game, therefore its like WoW is perfect for social deviants and the anti social, I am sorry the word Cunt offended you I will try and use the word less often :-)

ya thats only cause older gamers ignore thouse kind of questions. i do and im 15.
Look guys, I'm 22 and I played a lot WoW... Lot's of young players over there too. The thing is, it aint the age or the maturity of the eprson that really affects his gameplay, its just how much seriously he's taking the game. For myself, I take seriously, even though I still think of WoW or GW as a game, I realised that if you dont take it seriously, you wont get really far... Which is quite not what I want. Whats buggin is the players that just dont give a dam, so you group up with them and they do nothing to help. I'm not talking about noobs here(I'm a GW noob anyway...)what I'm talking about is someone who's doing things wrong(or isnt doin anything...) and you're tryin to tell him and you realise pretty fast that really doesnt care. Those are the people that make me waste my time, which I dislike very much. I've seen 12 y.o. players kicking my butt on PvP in WoW and I've killed lots of people of my age that their parents pay everything for them so the only thing they gotta do is play mmorpgs... So, the only thing I'm saying, play how you like, I dont care, but dont make me waste my time...

i always bow to someone that says is a noob in guildwars , becose i was one and i knew i was , actualy im playing guildwars for 13 months , and comparing my knolage to top 10 guilds players , im still a noob
what you say in your post is very true , and guildwars requires more knolage then most people imagine , lots of those people that made a warrior got to level 20 and stop playing becose they were bored , didnt learn 10% of what the game as to give.
we cant expect everyone to learn all of it , its impossible
and age as nothing to do with it , ive been in a group with a 14 year old kid leading , using voice chat , and he took us to the hall of heros , he knew what skills and how the team should play , he was mature to tell everyone what to do and how . i know many old people that cant do that.

I would have split the poll up as follows:
under 16
16 to 21
22 to 30
31 and above
and that would give you what you were looking for
This game is a 16 - 21 game, although a nice simple, part time game with great graphics, it lacks the complexity and sophisicated social interaction that some MMO's provide, But still a good game.
