    Um...I was under the impression that V:SoH wasn't slated for release until this Fall.  The web site doesn't mention any release date.  Where did you get your information?

    i heard its coming out on july 11 too. im pre-ordering it from barnesandnoble.com and it says the release date is july 11 2006. definetally getting it.

    Nah it will be coming out in "winter '06". Thats all we know so far. They are just entering Beta 3 and plan on a four or five part beta. The retail stores are just trying to sell pre-orders, which is a good thing for Sigil to see what they can expect on release(how many servers they will need, how many copies to ship beyond pre-orders, etc). So not much longer to wait.

    u dont know what ur talking about. it says it will arrive july 11 2006. so im goin by that date. anybody would believe game stop over an idiot. so go ahead and get it in winter. when everyone will be good cuz they got in in july.

    Those are pre-ordered boxes, the game won't be going live until at least November, before flaming someone get some info correct. Go to their website, notice how there's no updates? Funny you would think that a release might be some information they would provide.

    Do you know how many games had pre-orders set way before the release dates?

    Being anxious to get the game doesn't justify lashing out.

    if you look on the vanguard site itself, it cleary states: Winter

    July my friend isn't winter. It's been a long time since we had a winter in July, Infact I think the last winter we had in july was when America was still in the early stages of being formed. According to some scientist. it was a mini ice age we had.

    Im pretty sure it has quite some time before coming out.. but it will be the next MMO that I try out.  It sounds awesome, I cant wait.

    And not to mention that they havent yet installed the third continent(Kojan). That doesnt really sound like it is a game that is getting prepared to launch in under a month does it? But on the bright side they are hoping to ship a game that has had a long beta. They shipped EQ with a 9 month beta and Aradune Mithara(Brad Mcquaid) has said this time they plan on having around a 12 month beta. Putting the release somewhere around November. Then they will probably need a bit more time for marketing and preparing the servers. So it adds up to winter '06 like they said.

    Third:

    We are in beta 2.5 right now, at least that's what we are calling it.
    About to go into beta 3, again that was because of the switch over.
    Once we switch over to SOE, then we will start bringing people back into beta again and move on into beta 3, by next week. (which they just started with the Guild invites)

    If it does come out on July 11 or the 14 then by all means, you can post "I told you so post"

    if they are saying winter, then 9/10 it probably means winter. which sucks cause Fallen earth is coming out and that looks cool as well.

    This winter -- NOT next month. It doesnt seem to matter how many times
    we say that, some stores don't seem to believe us. Couldn't say why
    that is exactly, I mean one would think we'd be ones who would know --
    but oh well, there you have it :P

    July 11 might be a preorder box. Much like EQ2 did where you could buy a preorder box that had a sneak peak at avatar creator or some video's but the game itself will still be some time away.

    I highly doubt it.

    Point of advice: Always go to the source when checking release dates and info. If they were releasing a pre-order box, the community would have known by now.

    I just have to say I got a real kick out of this thread.  Especially the guy that got all pissy with the guy that told him it wasn't coming out till winter...ah classic.  If he was actullay being sarcastic he sure fooled me. 

    In closing, July 11th means absolutely nothing, people!  Sigil is hoping to release Vanguard before Christmas this year assumming the next few phases of beta run fairly smooth.
