okay heres the deal i just bought guild wars but i am worried about what i really want to be in the game. Like should i be im thinking of a warrior/elementalist or warior/mesmer but everyone says be a warrior/monk for the most part. but i hate monks i mean i wanna see some extreme magic offence not just some poop healing spells. but then there is also Necromancer wich sounds to me amazing! i mean controlling the dead is quite an ability. but also some people say be a warrior/ranger for the fun skills and the fact you can get a pet is it really    worth it to get a pet i mean its just an animal. so for all you guild war masters and 100 hour+ gamers out there please lend me yor advice

All up to 2. Just pick wichever class you think is the funnest and later on ask people what other class goes good with you're primary class.

Just experiment with everything, creating a deleting characters is easy and for the most part it won't cast you anything.

ok and also here are some questions

    1. is it easy or tedious to get to lvl 20?

    2. are there 2 handed swrds and 2 handed axes and everything else thats 2 haned?( because there is nothing talking about items on the website)

    3. at what lvl can rangers tame a pet?

    4. is it easy finding a party to fight with?

5.is PVP fun or just extremely dumb?

    6. if thre is 150+ skills and there are only 20 levels to aquire how do you aquire all the skills

    7. is PVE fun after you hit lvl 20?

    1. Depends on your character and your campaign (Factions is relatively hard compared to prophecies)
    2. Only 2h Hammers
    3. About 2 minutes after the word 'go'
    4. Depends on your class, if you an assassin get ready to use henchmen for missions
    5. It's one of the most in depth PvP games around
    6. Firstly you buy skills, and with each level you get skill points with these points you can trade it in aswell as a certian ammount of money to buy a skill (You must have atleast one skill point and certain ammount of cash to buy a skill). More 'powerfull' skills do not vary in price, instead the price is dependant on how many skills you have purchased and is maked at 1000gold (1 platinum)
    7. PvE hardly stats till you hit level 20, honestly once you hit level 20 it gets more fun than leveling... you see in PvE GW has roleplaying not non-stop grinding as an excuse for roleplay...

For the most part good answers.  I do have one thing to add:

#1.  It takes maybe a week or two of a few hours a day to hit 20.  If you pick a monk or weaker class prepare to die a lot, as they are very weak at first.  If you take a good strong Warrior, Ranger or Assassin you should fare better.

#5  PvP rocks!  In Factions players can control cities, which actually shifts the borders in-game.  If your faction owns a city you can host things like fireworks displays and such.  They have all sorts of contests, and PvP tournaments you can partake in.

#7  As per #1 you hit lvl 20 within a few weeks.  The point is to get up up to level 20 as fast as possible.  Once you hit 20, the real challenges begin.  With over 100 skills, you can only choose 8 to use in a mission or PvP arena.  If you get into a good group they will hash out and pre-coordinate what skills who is going to take.  If you end up doing your own thing your group will probably fail.  I've been in countless groups where people did their own thing and within a few moment we were wiped out.

    1. It can get tedious at times

    2. No 2 handed weapons except bows and staffs. And I think maces.

    3. Any level.

    4. Ya pretty easy. But you can also take along henchies.

    5. extremely fun once you get the hang on things.

    6. You get skills from quests, and trainers.

    7. Can't say but my guess is no.

Actually the best PvE only starts AFTER level 20. I spend nearly all my time PvEing, and ALL my 6 chars are lvl 20. There's so much to do once you hit 20, there are Elites to capture, areas to explore, more skills to buy, tons of different "elite" armor to grab (particularly with factions), and of course green drops to obsess over. (I've never had a green drop in over 600 hours...damn my crappy luck)

I agree about the PvE. I play nothing but that anymore, and I've had loads of fun. This is especially true in Factions, as 90% of the game content is geared for a level 20 character.

If you look around on the forum here, you'll notice that he gripes a lot about how bad the game is.  Dunno why they hang around if it is such a bad game, and incredibly boring.  Must give them something to be cool about.  Everyone always much braver on the internet, where people have "anonymity".   Gives them a sense of power or something.  Personally if I didn't like a game, I'd avoid those forums and post in the ones I really liked.  But to each their own I guess.
