I found this on IGN...

"....the team behind Guild Wars is already hard at work creating an entirely new campaign set for the game. Though team isn't quite ready to start revealing details of the game, they were willing to show us a very impressive trailer that let us get a good look at the locations for the new campaign as well as some concept art for the creatures and NPCs that might populate it.

Starting on a rocky beach, the demo focused on a somewhat run-down dock and a massive, swan-shaped ship with sails that looked like dragonfly wings. From there the game transitions to a North Africa style savannah. Green trees, rocky outcrops and gaily painted mud huts decorate the landscape. We soon traveled to a very interesting windmill that had a hawk-like figure on its top.

By far the most beautiful visuals came when we moved to a massive stone city. Decorated with golden minarets and lush gardens, it looked like the perfect place to relax. There's also a magical touch here as some of the plants actually hang in the air. Water cascading down from them into crystal clear pools gave the whole area a really mystical atmosphere.

After taking a tour and seeing the sights, the team showed us a ton of concept art for the game. The NPCs and creatures all fit the African sort of theme but they show heavy fantasy influences as well. Robed dervishes and giant flattened worms shared the stage with desert warriors and horned tapirs. We'd love to give you details on the new creatures and the classes but the team isn't quite ready to reveal any of those details just yet.

NCSoft told us that the 110 person Guild Wars team has been divided up into two separate campaign teams. That allows them to release an entirely new campaign every six months. Each one is intended to offer a unique visual style based either on real world geography and culture or some sort of mythological setting. Each campaign will also support an entirely new tournament event."

110 People?  Only in Asia could you afford 110 developers on a MMO title which charges no monthly fee!

They aren't exactly doing bad with Guild Wars. The original game was quite high on the sales charts and the same with Factions. GW sold over 1 million did it not? Since Guild Wars doesn't offer much monthly content/upgrades either, I think it's quite cheap keeping it running. They also have backing from NCsoft. Also, they don't have to go in +. What if they run in minus and then hope for sales to recover?

They have been working on a 3rd chapter for some time now.

Apparently the word is that they are beginning to get the 4th chapter team ramped up to being the initial design phase.

There is no reason why you have to charge monthly fees to be profitable.  Monthly fees just add to profit.  For example:

500,000 people buy the game at 49.99.  That equals $24,995,000.
You release chapter 2 and say 400,000 people buy it at 49.99.  That equals $19,996,000.

That's in just two years.  And when I mean buy, I don't mean all playing.  Some buy this game to play when they want to take a break from their regular games.  How much money do you need to be profitable?  And if you keep on releasing new packs you simply make more money.  And if people buy it and use it as a fall-back game for taking a break from other games, you make even more profit as that is less bandwidth to have to pay for.

Does anyone have any information on the new two professions? Since its an african themed campaign this time, we might expect to see a some sort of shamanistic profession. that could be intersting.

shamanistic sterotypical but likely.  prob a spears/lance class also.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

I think there will definitely be another heavy melee class brought into this one, possibly even more defensive than the current warrior class. I would also hazard a guess that there'll be another ranged physical dmg dealer introduced too, possibly with some side elemental dmg, delivered with the physical weapon. (Meh, they sound boring don't they, I'm sure Arena will therefore do something else :)

I don't mind really, whatever they are, I LOVE exploring new classes and combos, it's become my "whole" GW experience since Factions (in PvE of course). To be able to have 2 new classes every 6 to 8 months (with a whole new PvE area to explore) is going to keep GW as my number one game for some time to come I'm sure!

You are grossly over-estimating the cost of running the servers... it is negligble.

Is there a link to find out information wether it be rumours or real.

Well what do ya know, type Guild Wars Campaign 3 under google and loads of info on it comes up, mostly the same quotes from Arena Net.

They could probably add a class that focuses on Martial Arts unarmed combat skills, where weapons would be gloves/knuckles, that sort of thing. It could definitely work, see the Monk class from Ragnarok Online, for example.

Simular to the monk class on FFXI too

The running of the game is also a lot easier than other MMO's since it's mainly instanced meaning you don't have to do all the maintanaince and don't get as many bugs. This obviously means you don't have to pay the team as much as for a game which isn't instanced much such as WoW.

Edit: For the African themed one, i would probably take a guess at a Shaman-type class and maybe a spear, close/long ranged class.

i would think they would add eather an unarmed class or a spear class, but not both in the same chapter
