Any idea

Ok long time lurker, first time poster here. I left SWG with no fanfare a month after the NGE hit, started playing around pub 7. Left the game because NGE just wasn't my cup of tea. I now lurk here and at the offical forums to keep track and see if the game is becoming playable again and i notice that the great hope for the game now are the "expertise trees".  I am wondering with the, shall we say, "interesting", combat system the game now has how will this help characters? Combat being twitch based means that any combat bonuses are meaningless ( if you can't hit, you can't score), or are they trying to bring back defense stacking?

No, aimbot is only thing that matters.

In other words, no ammount of expertise will help you, if you have low FPS or trouble with mouse aim.

    It's called skill.

Well as someone with arthritis in both hands i guess i have a different definition of skill.  The question remains:  Is this planned  "improvement" going to actually do anything other than bring about what a lot of nge fans use to knock pre nge play?

It's going to be the best thing that ever happened to the game.

Apparently you'll have the 4444 tree structure back, and as you earn skill points through leveling (that thing that you used to have 250 off them), you'll buy these boxes (you know, pre-NGE style). And one branch will add damage, one will add defense, one will add particle effects, and one will be bugged.

Then you'll customize your character to your heart's content (as long as you're Jedi or BH, otherwise wait for 6-18 months, if you're smuggler, entertainer or trader, don't bother), and everyone will be jolly unique.

In the end, combat-wise, it still comes down only to how well you can aim. No damage bonus will do you any good, if you can't keep cursor over target.

But wait for a bit, till you get an objective descriptions of how great an improvement this will be from people more inclined towards NGE.
