Minor issue with Chaos classes

As fas as i am aware, there will be 4 classes for each race, a melee tank, a melee DPS, spellcaster and a ranged DPS. The problem is, that Chaos will NEVER under any circumstances engage the enemy in ranged combat. Its chaos, its corruption, its Demonic.  its 8 feet tall warriors of death and destruction, is a pure bloodbath, and chaos will NOT attack in ranged.

How will Mystic solve this one?

MYTHIC will probably just keep it how they have it planned unfortunately

  • No, Chaos army is Tzeentch in WAR.  Tzeentch is not Khorne.  He likes magic and is highly oriented towards sorcery.  So these chaos guys using magic makes perfect sense.

If games workshop gives the okay then pretty much anything can be added or changed.

A relevant example is the chaos axe throwers (range) that were put into Warhammer: mark of chaos RTS coming out.

Where on earth did you get that info on the classes. It's completely wrong. The forth class hasn't been a Ranged DPS, it's been a pet class(The Engineer and the Squig Hearder).

PS: Maurader, Knight, Spellcaster and maybe a Hound Trainer or some kind of Demon.

    QFT.

There's plenty of Chaos troops with ranged attacks, and always have been, in the miniature line.

This is was a rather silly thread to start...

I wish people would take the time to read interviews instead of asking dumb questions.

    1. Not every race will have the same classes.
    2. WAR is about RvR and huge battles, not about 1 vs 1.

    This is just false!

    This is just false!

i can think of 2 chaos regiments with ranged attacks... flamers, which are demons and marauders, which CAN have throwing axes. not much ranged class there to work on imo..

Anyway i was in disgust with the class ideas they discussed in the WARs E3 video...i really hope GW doesnt give the thumbs up for the ideas /pray

The Warhammer fluff is only a guideline, Mythic can add or change things to get the type of game play/game balance they want as long as it's within reason.  For instance, every race will have a healer.  There's been no confirmation from Mythic that each race will have the other 3 archetypes: tank, melee dps, ranged dps.  But it's entirely possible.

You can not look at just dwarf classes and say that there set-up will be used for the other races. As far as I know the goblin class has a caster, tank, pet /melee class. As for the Battler I have seen sites that said they were postional melee fighters, and I seen site were they were supposed to more ranged fighter, perhaps the truth lies in between.

Each race has thier own story and background which will dictate thier classes. The reason the dwarves only have one caster is b/c dwarves dont use magic,  and having more the one rune user would be redundant. Dwarves do however excel at engineering, which in a genere such at this means guns and explosives hence a ranged class.

The Chaos classes my very well have 3 casters and 1 melee class b/c of the chaos god being portrayed in the game. At this point in the game it is too earlier to say what kinds of classes to expect for which races.

Dude... ever heard of a warp cannon?

That's just ONE example. Tzeenech loves ranged combat.

Kaaber, have you ever played 40k? There's only a handfull of non-ranged chaos units there, even for Khorne, and it's all the same chaos powers.

Plus, of course, they haven't said that the classes would be arranged like that anyway, that's just the setup for the dwarves. They've definately stated that the greenskins will have a squig herder pet class, which doesn't fit any of those 4 types.
