I'm gonna give EVE another try :D

I had played the trial to this about 6 months ago. It was an okay game. Had a huge learning curve and I became impatient with it and Only played a good 5 hours worth of the game total. I got a friend into it who then played the heck out of his trial account and got all kinds of stuff tons of money and items etc.

Is it worth another try? I really want a good space experience. I'm a huge Star Trek fan and just love Astronomy in general, I think maybe I should try playing this game again.  have there been any SERIOUS updates in the past half year?

And one last question -

I was playing EVE on my old computer, with a Geforce 4 ti4200, 1gb of ram, and a 1800+ AMD processor and it looked just fine, but now that I have a new computer, will i see a difference in graphics?

Now i'm using a ATI Radeon X850XT 256mb, 2gb of pc3200ram, and a 3500+ amd 64 processor.

Thanks for any tips /insight/suggestions.

I'm going to check out the tips to having fun on a trial game.

Current MMO: WoW/GW2

I always feel like playing EVE after watching ST.

The graphics haven't really been updated, but there's a huge patch coming out soon, and the updated graphics look awesome. I can't find the damn screenshots now though!!!

Also Tier 3 Battleships are coming out, which should be very nice indeed.

I would be very suprised if you got an unbiased opinion here, and I certainly am not one ::::01::. But I would say yes, and be sure to get into a corp as soon as you can, since they can add a lot of structure to the game. I hear EVE University is a good corp for new guys, plus they are part of a 0.0 alliance, and there is a lot of "meat" in those areas with all the politics, wars, and history.

Hope you enjoy your second stay.

    God Bless

That is something you better find out for yourself. Try the trial. But EVE currently offers the best space experience of any MMO.

You should notice, that objects load faster, and you should have less graphics related lag in fleetbattles. And there should be a slight overall increase in visual quality (eg Textures).

I don't think there's any escaping from this game once you've had the PvP rush from this game, i've been back and forth many times, but i always kept the account running, as i knew in the back of my mind that no other game can come close to get my heart racing like EVE can.

I found the game pretty fun and immersive. I just personally can't sit through the long travel.

Then don't travel. Find a home spot and work from there. If you don't like to travel don't do courier missions or trade, mine or do combat missions. You don't have to travel if you don't want to.

Hmm, seems impossible not to travel, but the best thing to do is get insta bookmarks that will drop you on the gate. If it's safe space though, just set auto-pilot and go watch TV or something for a while.
