Just looking for a few thoughts. I have been playing EQ for a few years, and over all I still really enjoy it, but many aspects of what Sony has been doing and the 2 expansions a year plus rising costs are driving me away.

I have tried EQ 2, as well as WoW, but neither really "did it" for me. They both had some aspects I liked, but found them both to be too watered down for me. That and had a hard time with the cartoony graphics with WoW.

Besides Vanguard does anybody have any suggestions for a new one. At least at the moment I'm looking towards something really cheap or free of monthly fees to save some cash till Vanguard comes out. Thanks in advance and sorry it's so open ended.

    Haven't tried, but keep hearing about how bad it is. Basically a 3D side scroller. You can see all this great looking stuff in the back ground, but can never go check it out, since pathing is restricted to pre-set little trials. Is this true? And how is the combat and interaction with other players?

    Did you take a look at Final Fantasy XI? its a lot like the original Everquest.

    GW is a great game, but I do not personally consider it an MMO.  If you decide to play GW you shouldn't approach it mentally as an MMO.  It a very good and unqiue RPG and it has great multiplayer options though ;)

    People still playing that? I mean enough to actually keep it interesting? Everybody I knew that used to play it left a long time ago.

    Umm..... u been hearing the worng ppl maybe u sould go to the GW forums an thye will tell u how good the game is.....

    you mean ffxi? yeah, still lots and lots of people playing it.
