A Syndicate of Hyboria - [Site|Forum|Charter|Video]
We are a well organized PvP, Non-Rp guild that is always looking for new members as we come closer to AoC's release.
TEC has been established for almost 2 years now and we are an AoC Only guild, making us one of the few original guilds of the AoC community and the oldest and largest PvP focused guild.
We currently have 120+ active members, but in a game like AoC where guild towns and sieges are a guild's main aspects, numbers will be an important key to a guild's power... but more importantly will be the members that make up those numbers.
Don't fall under the assumption that we are a zerg guild like many large guilds, we have a solid application process to weed out those wanting to join our ranks to accept only the most dedicated and mature applicants. As said, we have over 120 active members, but have had over 350 applications from those wishing to join the guild and with new applications daily, we continue to grow.
While large numbers can result in sloppy guild management, we have developed a guild structure to make large numbers easy to maintain. We call this build, Houses and Regiments. Feel free to read about this on our guild website. (TheEminence.org)
The Eminence [TEC] - The Basics
Founded: April 20, 2006

Focus: Primary - PvP ; Secondary - PvE/End Game/Raids
Role Play: No

Mission Statement - Our Goal
The guild is developed with the enjoyment of the members and players in mind, by this we wish to produce only a friendly, helpful environment that everyone will enjoy being a part of. This will be accomplished by only recruiting players that intend to meet the expectations listed under the Membership section below.
Do keep in mind that the said enjoyment also includes the defeat and bloodshed of our enemies.
Membership - Expectations
If you are interested in joining The Eminence, you should understand what we expect from our members.
RespectWe expect all members to show maturity and respect for their fellow guild mates. Friendly joking is always welcomed, but be sure not to take things too far.ActivityWe also seek active members. We understand that this is a game, and the players do indeed have lives they must attend to, but regular game activity and the ability to attend guild events is a feature we seek - we're not asking you to play 6+ hours every day, just don't be inactive for 7+ days at a time without prior notice.CooperationWe can not have successful sieges and successfully defend our guild walls unless the members can cooperate and work together. Cooperation is vital in any guild and is the root of organization. If you have an issue with a member, take it up with an officer and we will do our best to solve it while avoiding drama.VentriloWe currently have a 50 user slot ventrilo server (will upgrade at game release), as we believe it will serve good purpose in both PvP and PvE activities. Due to this we ask that all members please obtain a ventrilo client (free of charge) from Ventrilo.com - Our server supports both Windows and Mac clients.
Even if you do not have a mic and only speakers, being able to hear the commands of officers in battle is all we ask.
During this pre-game bonding phase everyone is welcomed to come on Vent and chat it up with the members. This provides an opportunity to get to know us better and, more importantly, in real time.
Structure - Ranks
The guild's rank system is very simplstic, this is to avoid heavy guild member conflicts in regards to rank advancement. As a new member, you will obtain the rank of Peasant, and once in the guild two weeks you will advance to Grunt. Your final rank will be Veteran which you will gain after 3 months of membership.
The organization leaders of The Eminence are known as the War-Chiefs and Warlords, each one watching over eachother and the membership within the Houses and Regiments. More details regarding Ranks, Houses and Regiments can be found on the guild website.
Once the game comes out we will have Class Leaders who will organize varying groups of players with varying interests such as crafting quest groups, PvP assassination squads, catburglar thieving parties, raid parties, etc.
Final - Enlistment
Now that you have a better understanding of The Eminence and our guild charter, I'd like to invite you to the guild website for more details and information regarding guild enlistment as well as introducing yourself to our active community on the forums. If you have any questions please feel free to post on our guild forums.

The Eminence is also an Age of Conan Fansite and contains a nice amount of information on the game. Anything from races and classes, to a large list of the Conan books and comics. The site also has media content such as pictures, artwork, and 18 AoC videos of interviews and presentation filmings.

Nah I dont think it's ever too early to start a guild. At this point there's already nearly 100 AoC guilds formed. It'll just make it that more fun to jump in the game and immediatly have a ton of friends to play with that you've gotten to know over the last few months.
Funcom already has a Guild board on their AoC forum.

Im thinking to play a rogue/thief type or a necromancer type (evil caster if it exists in AoC). Im not a hardcore player, maximum I can input is 2-4 hours daily, and 5-8 hours on sunday. But I often skip a day due to work. So I guess a casual guild like THeEminence would be perfect for me. im gonna sign up right away.

I looked at your rules and found them to be what I'm " looking for"...but I have some questions.
1) Will you span more than one game?
2) I plan on waiting at least 2 months after the release of AoC before I decide to join. Is this acceptable to you?
3) I liked your website and your attitude but are you willing to listen to constructive critisim/input if need be?
4) If Jimmyman99 is going to be in your guild, will you make sure he doesn't smoke around me?
Played Wow, D and L, AOC, GW, Eve, Rift and many more insignificant games.

It's way to early for a guild. You will all get hyped now but in less then a month every one will go inactive and they will forget that they are even in a guild.
Good luck any way!
The majority of us Acolytes are still active several months after the guild was created.
It helps a lot when you have a good website and member base like the one these guys have.
No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

Thanks NinjaKN! Your response has been the most constructive so far!(If a little bit late.) I understand though. Everyone has a life and I can't expect you to respond to my posts as quickly as I would like. But! just to let you know. I play one MMO and one MMO only at any one time. If I join your worthy guild, your guild will have my full attention! And if it moves on to another game I will follow as long as I feel that you are giving the game currently played justice.
