Patch Disaster?

The Euro servers have been down for maintenance and patching so, being the diligent player, I went to the US forums to see how things were shaping up.

Looks like a lot of people are having problems with Blizzard's wretched excuse for a patcher.  And those who are d/l from mirrors are reporting file corruptions.

Given how many people were reporting that the patcher gets stuck at 83/84 percent, my heart sank a bit when I saw where my patcher had got to, and has now been sitting for the last 40 or so minutes (transfer rate 0.00kb/s).

The only "blue" (moderator) posts have been either "Just walk away and leave it as watched pots never boil"  (umm.. 0.00kb/s download rate, I will be having cold water a hell of a long time!)   And the response to those reporting a corrupted file were told it was because they had bad RAM (what, all of them?) 

In the way of many online communities, some players are suggesting fixes to corrupted files - results look uneven.

Official word?  None.

Can any players let us know if they are having any troubles and what they are doing to work it out?
