Stuff People Like In MMOs

Ok, I am probably going to offend somebody, but you know I dont care soo deal with it.

First off I gotta say that WOW sucks, and I honestly don't see why so many people play it. Got that out of the way and onto the main topic. Here is what I think an MMO should consist of: Sandbox play (for you ppl who don't know thats where you can basicly do anything within the game except cheat and stuff) , put in plenty of GOOD quest I know you can't have very quest awesome but WOW did a good job and so can other companies. I think also you should have mounts, cars, whatever that makes you go faster than running....but NOT at a high level, I mean come on. Also, make the people who play the game have neat skills that they can upgrade Not just in level but train for it by a NPC or another player who has it. Oh let players have houses and not Banks, thats so stupid, every single time I see that I just want to take a fork and plunge it into the Devs spinal column. A bank isn't going to hold all your items ok....get real with it. Ohh yea also, this new game called Hero Online I think has 4 classes/professions.......4 classes, there is no custimization there its slightly retarded.

Thats about it sorry for making it so long, please post on any comments you have, I love to hear what other ppl think and their opinions. Oh one last thing, if you play WOW and think you are "LEET" you just remember how "leet" you are living with mommy and daddy at age 30.

though your post wasnt very thought out and sort of randomly lashed out there at the end (funny to me, since i like making fun of wow players too, but i usually dont make generalization lol), i agree.

sandbox gameplay is my preference.  arbitrary level restrictions are not my preference. player housing instead of solely having a bank is my preference...

so yea i guess i do agree.

Why WoW sucks? Becouse you don't like it? Becouse it's not deep enought for you? That's why it sucks? Or mybe it killed your favorit MMORPG?

WoW is far from "suck". It's a simple MMORPG, easy to get in to, quests are fun, bacisly it can keep your smiling for a very long time. Let's ignore the raiding part at 60 but hell... Some people like that too.
WoW gave people what they wanted. Yes. I also would like (pre-cu)SWH like sand-boxish game... but WoW was pulled so good that I could ignore the linear world and lack of graphics (tho they did good job there too... Low polly but still looks nice) becouse of all the fun I was having. Ofc. "soon" (in couple of months) you will get bored. But for a short period you will have time of your (e-)life.

If people could only drop this "WoW sux becouse I don't like it".

He didn't say it was his opinion. He said "WoW sucks". If he would say something along the lines like "Imho WoW sucks". Fine. It sucks for you. Don't play it. But don't say that WoW sucks becouse it doesnt and over 5 mil people are there to prove that.

Funny thing about WoW is that I liked it during beta but after initial release, I was completely done with it. But of course that has nothing to do with this post! This is a post about what we would like in an MMO.

Having low level mounts is a fantastic idea. I like being able to get around without getting slaughtered by aggressive higher level mobs in Silkroad Online via a horse. And being able to tame a horse in Ultima Online made my character's life much easier as I could get away from high level mobs and gather resources in a timely fashion. I don't like spending money on a game then spending the whole month I have running around.

I think quests are always going to be pointless. And personally I don't mind if they're "kill x, bring back y" or "deliver this for me" because that's industry standard now and anything slightly different will possibly be met with dislike by the majority. If you want something deep, get into crafting but quests are and forever will be for people who want to mindlessly grind. Now mayhaps a game will come along and change this but I doubt anyone really wants to try whole-hearted because of people like me.

I enjoyed being a healer in UO because I had to work with other people. My skill point wasn't going to raise fast enough with my healing myself so I had to look for other people to heal. And I thought it was nice to rely on other people to raise my skill but on the other hand, people can be ungrateful and rude so it couldn't hurt to rely on an NPC.

Having a room, like in FFXI, is a generally good idea because it could expand the crafting community to make furniture. But having a house, you risk it being broken into. Personally, I think the bank is alright if it has unlimited slots but a room is just more tangible and people like that sort of thing.

None of my thirty-something year old friends have time for WoW, they all play CoH. :/

WoW does suck, all it is exagerated graphics, bland textures, no custimization in your character, and just nothing to do besides quest grind and pvp. Ok I also said, the very first sentence, that I was going to offend ppl, but I ain't gonna say Im sorry because I don't have to. Game Devs just should think about it before they do something or they all seem like they have the mental capicity of a  1 year old child (case and point SWG). Whichever one of you guys or girls said I was an idiot....well grow up and be alil more mature, and if you are going to call someone names think of something better like mental midget, because thats way more hurtful than "idiot".

sand box, and questing don't mix.  without bad effects to one or the other.  questing needs a persistant(one that doesn't change) world, sand box players are changing it(in short making it non-persistant).

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

Theres games out there i dont like, theres games I still like alot but dont play anymore.

Im looking for Freedom,Depth and costumization,(<---spelt bad i think) And this in the past year has been given a name.,its called a sandbox.Silly name I think but its the word to explaine it now.

Im sick of restrictions.Large level gaps, split up play styles and Poor crafting.

Game has to 100% have good crafting.

Game 100% has to have sweet loot, but only in a game were you lose it when you die.

Game should never take XP from you when you die.

Game has to Have the option to kill who ever when ever out side of towns, with a harsh penalty after dieing,.

Game allso has to have Lame pointless silly professions like dancing or Camping to bring in the players that like it.

Game allso has to be Skill based NOT level based, there should not be X amount of xp gained when things die.

Instances should only be quests,ONLY quests and non farmable.

A game like this would grow slow,50% of players dont want to lose anything, they allso dont want other players to effect them or there game at all.and thats the problem, the MMO's of today are turning into fancy sinlge player games, and some game Devs dont like that so they code it to force players to PArty,.But it was there own rule sets that effect them in the first place and they cant see it.

Only going to take a few more years to polish the sandbox, games like Eve will stand strong, and we all know it,its a dam sci-fi that dont offer some things but yet it spawns vary loyal and a happy playerbase,.this is no mistake and its the freedom that is the Key to the future of MMO's,not restrictions and controlled pvp.
