What are you waiting for???

KnowledgeKnowledge Member UncommonPosts: 140

I was just looking over all the upcomming games and wondering to myself which games had the most anticipation.  I wanted to start this thread to find out what games all my fellow online gamers are drooling over.  So if you will, reply to this post and give me a list of the games you can't wait to play (in order of anticipation).  Also explain why you are interested in the game.  Please don't list any games that you are CURRENTLY playing.  This is just for games that have not yet been released.  Let us know what you're waiting for and why.  Also feel free to post in regard to other people's list (for example correcting any misunderstandings about an upcomming game's features or just commenting on their list)  I'll start with mine.

1. Guildwars  (because of the lack of the leveling treadmill which i hate, pvp, and beautifull graphics)

2. Ryzom (because it is by far the most unique online I have seen)

3. Lineage 2 (honestly the leveling sucks, but the graphics are superb and the pvp/siege system is awesome)

4. UX:O (same with the leveling but the questing ideas seem really cool)

5. World of Warcraft (a while back this was at the top of my list because I've always loved blizzard but the more i find out about the game the less I'm interested...it may be cool so i still have my eyes open for it)

That's about it for me.  What do you all think?

By the way,  I am well aware of the HYPE-meter on the game list.  I'm also well-aware that the die hard fans of these "spectacular" games seem to create multiple accounts and Hype the game up a bit more than necessary.  I'd rather have your individual feedback on this one.  image

The two games I am looking foreword to is Guild Wars and WoW.

The reason why I pick these two games is because one is being made by former blizzard workers and the other is being made by blizzard. There also many other reasons why I am looking foreword to these games, but thats the two main reasons. image

I'm mostly waiting for Dark and Light, though WoW and the new UO sequel look interesting as well. EQ2 looks really good, but I've done EQ to death and I can't imagine that the gameplay experience will be enough of a departure to satisfy me.

I'm not really waiting for anything...I'm having a great time playing Horizons.

But the game I'm most interested in seeing come to market is WoW. I am highly curious how Blizzard performs in the MMOG space, a place they have never been.

WoW and Guild Wars. Although I'll probably just get WoW because I've been a fan of Warcraft for years.

The rest of them don't have anything that keeps me interested. Though, I'll probably keep an eye out for Ryzom, just in case.

Mistress is being bashed for presenting her side of a story that Djinn already presented? I don't get that.

You two CLEARLY have some issues to work out before you become fodder for the Springer show. Sounds like you've both made some bad choices in your lives. Get the help you need to start making better ones from counselors or attorneys.

It seems WoW and Guildwars are so far the most anticipated games.  I was almost under the impression that WoW had lost it's flame but I guess not.  My reason for praising Guildwars over WoW really is because the two things that I dislike most about online games are not a part of Guildwars and have been noted to be included in World of Warcraft.

Those two things are the great and powerfull leveling treadmill and of course consentual PvP ("You might if I kill you?).   I think leveling turns a game into a job, I'd rather be at work making money than killing the same monster over and over again so I can hear some little victory jingle and continue the cycle.  Consentual PvP , and I know this is a sensative and controversial topic but please allow me to express my humble opinion, is for the weak.  I've already worded my entire point of view on PvP in previous threads so I'm not going to piss any carebears off in this one so let's just say Guildwars > WoW for me with those two reasons alone (not to mention the graphics).

    I'm eagerly awaiting the following:

Lineage 2 - Looks absolutely amazing!

Guild Wars - No monthly fee price model.  Weeeeee!

City of Heros - New MMOG genre. Can't wait to fly around! image

WoW - Curious about this one, but worried about Blizzard attempting its first true MMOG.  Will probably be lots of wrinkles.

UXO - Looks cool, could be great if EA doesn't screw it up.

Ah yes! Thank you Civil!  How could I possibly forget City of Heroes?  I would say it's right above UX:O on my list.  Thanks again for the reminder.  I'm definately interested in the new ideas, creating my own superhero, flying into a building, breaking my neck, going to the hospital, my girlfriend breaking up with me because I'm paralyzed from the neck down and can no longer perform sexually, committing suicide by rolling my wheelchair of the roof of the hospital, etc.  Sounds like mounds of fun! image

Okay I know I have serious issues but I'm definately interested in CoH, I promise.image
