This was originally a reply to another thread, but ive decided to make it a new thread, not because its important or something, just because it seem every stupid kid makes a post with what he thinks he FTW.
Im trying to understand why you bother to post about a game, if you think it sucks so much.
I love wow, and I think all other games suck (I don't think this way but lets say I do). Why the hell I would bother going in and hijacking threads about the games I never played, or I played them 10 hours and still know nothing about that game. Why the hell I would waste my time (even if only 5 minutes) to post shit about games I don't give 2 cents for.
I really wonder, how many people that are saying that WoW is an easy game actually experienced the end game like AQ, and since today, Naxxramas.
If you love your game, whatever it is, eve gw etc, why you spend your time here posting shit about other games. Don't you better spend your time playing the game you do like, instead of spending it writting shit about others games.
I think that most of the kids posting here crap about a game or another don't have self confidence, and they need others to agree with them. I really don't see another reason.
All this whine its exactly as going in shops and yelling at people that they should buy and drink fanta not coke. All this because you enjoy fanta more than coke.
Do you also tell your friends that they are retards if they like chicks with big tits, just because you like small tits more ?
Note: this is a whine post, this is just a LOL @ stupid people.

Am laughing at you.
So according to you, people should only post positive experiences, never negative ones.
How does that help other players choose quality games?
OMG this thread sucks.
BTW its because I like knowing I am right.
I find a flaw in your logic young padawan:
Most people who complain about WoW complain about:
Those are the biggest 4 complaints I've seen about WoW. The first 2 invalidate your statement. The last 2 render it moot. You CAN have an opinion on features of a game with even a minimal 10 hour trial.
Oh yeah... and chalk up WoW thread #42132412349123401234

Anyways I don't call WoW players retarded because they play it.
This isn't a WoW > all. WoW was just an example. This is about people going "omg game a sucks!!!!!oneoneeleven GO PLAY GAME B !!!"
Game trials and guest passes are there for a reason. For players to test the game and see if the game suit their tastes. Because after all, its only about tastes in general. Eve might be a wonderful game, but ill never play it only because I like fantasy not SF.
Its only about having respect about other peoples choices.
About WoW having a lot of newbie, well yes, its 100% true. Before WoW was released whole MMORPG was counting less than 6 mil subscribers. this game got many people into MMORPGs and others games should thanks Blizzard for this, because when people will get bored of wow they will prolly go play another game, not just quit the genre.
Yes , WoW its 100% raiding orietend, you should knew this before you started playing it. Playing it without knowing its 100% raiding oriented its 100% your fault. Next time dig up some more info about a game before you purchase it.
Yes, WoW its simple. But all games are simple. Any mmorpg can be played very good by a 10 yo kid. The hard part at wow its not playing the game itself. The hard part is to put togheter 60 people that know what to do and listen to orders, so your raid can kill stuff.

In a market flooded with crap Blizzard was one of the few companies to wait and release a polished product. PC games are a dime a dozen but PC games with good graphics, and easy to use interface, good cinematics, almost totally crash free, a nice storyline with good voice acting _and_ good gameplay? That's what has earned Blizzard the reputation it has. No other company, at least for PC games, can claim to be as well known for good games as Blizzard. So when they applied themselves to an MMORPG, it's no wonder that so many people snatched it up. Combine Blizzard's fanbase with the continuity and familiar universe provided and that explains the subscription numbers.
My best bet is that Blizzard is really stumped about what to do for end-game content. They know how to build games, and they did build WoW decently enough, but they don't know anything about managing it. Thus more of the same. One raid after another.
How? Do you really think the majority of people when buying WoW even know what raiding is?
"Im trying to understand why you bother to post about a game, if you think it sucks so much."
The only time I really post stuff like that is if someone asks my opinion... or for opinions in general. If you have a legitimate gripe with a game and post it in a constructive manner. That is actually a good thing and people htat have positive experience post their view point as well.
Gaming is a "subjective" experience and its hard to make objective statements. One person may look at a painting and think its the greatest work of art. The next person may look at it and think its total crap. That doesn't mean either one of them is wrong. It won't matter how long they debate it. Its just their personal view point and you can't really change that.
The game I do crap on a lot is Star Wars Galaxies.
Because for "me" it went from a game I would not have moved on from (no other mmo out there really thrills me at the moment). Then it was changed into something that should be flushed down the toilet (again that's just how I feel).
Other than that I wouldn't waste my time posting about a game I don't like. As I would be in a game I do like or outside trying to figure out what that really bright thing in the sky is... as my pastey white skin gets burned to a crisp. (that's a sad attempt at a joke).
Oh and if you really want an answer to your question...
Why do people do the same thing about AMD/Intel or Nvidia/ATI or most anything in life.
If you don't like something and someone else does... you'll never change their mind. I also am a firm believer that these companies will never give you "free stuff" for being a fan boi either...
Whenever i step outside, somebody claims to see the light
It seems to me that all of us have lost our patience.
'cause everyone thinks they're right,
And nobody thinks that there just might
Be more than one road to our final destination--
As to knowing it was "raid" oriented. That's also untrue. The only portion of the game that is raid oriented is the end, when you hit 60. Many people played and loved WoW because it was "Casual Player Friendly" and "Easy to Solo in and not feel weak". Once they hit 60 all that changed. And no, it's NOT advertized in any way. Only people who would know are people who frequent message boards.
Yet you yourself acknowledge that WoW brought in numerous people to the genre who hadn't previously played MMO's. Odds are they were aslo people who didn't frequent MMO Message boards and thus would not have heard about the end game being 'raid oriented'. And even if they did wouldn't really understand what the heck that means since they are "new to MMO's".
So, your statements are mostly true. But this 1 is glaringly false. There is no way someone totally new to the Genre would have known WoW is raid oriented at level 60 unless they did a lot of research beforehand to find out. And, lets face it, most people just buy a game off the shelf without any real research... especially when they already know the franchise. C'mon now... how many people that picked up WoW went "Hmm I'll research this first" verse went "OHHHH Blizzard made a new Warcraft game!!!!!"
I'm not saying WoW is a "bad game" I never have. In fact I haven't really said that about any game. Any game I criticize I have actually played, usually extensively. And I always criticize it and detail what I find wrong as well as what I find good about a game. Granted I agree with your thesis, many people don't do that. But I would argue that MOST of the people I have seen criticize WoW on these forums (and most other games as well) have actually played those games. There are a vocal crowd of folks that post like you indicate... but they are, while loud, in the minority as far as I've ever seen on this site.

Because if you leave it to game sites, message forums owned by the game makers themselves and review sites (of which most get their ad revenue from the game titles) every game would be the next revoultion in gaming entertainment and have a unique offering.
Believe it or not the voice of the gamer is pretty new. For years SOE and EA would do their best to find reasons to lock unfavorable posts about their games. Meanwhile they place ads in all the popular spots to draw your attention. Its only been within the last few years sites like Lum the Mad have been replaced with actual gamer feed back.
The reason is simple - because people deserve the truth about alternate opinions. I think its healthy and constructive when alternate opinions are expressed (although I disagree with the SOE SUCKS KTY posts).
Its a silly question really - if you went to buy a bottle of cola and you took a drink and found out somone pee'd in it you wouldnt think twice about unleashing a fury of OMFGWTFBBQ reports about that cola maker. But some how its taboo for gamers to talk negatively about their gaming experiences lest big brother ban their account.
sigh - how brainwashed some people have become.
OP... this wasn't a WoW>all thread eh? I'm calling total BS. You play WoW, you love WoW. And you come to these boards and see all the people giving the reasons they do why they dislike WoW for it being too simplistic, too boring, or whatever and are trying to defend your game with a "disguised" thread.
This is nothing more then yet another "Stop bashing WoW, Why is WoW so abused on these forums" thread. Your disguise is as see-through as Saran Wrap and doesn't cover the fact that you are a WOW loving fanboi who is offended and pissed off at all the people posting negativity about your beloved game.
So let's turn your orignal post question back onto you... Why spend even 5 minutes defending your beloved game on here? Why not be playing it instead? For God sakes, it's not like you need to try and convert even more people to playing WoW. I think there are plenty of other mmo-noobs in WoW for you to group up with.
And yes, I'll stand by that statement in the above paragraph. WoW is for nothing more then "mmo-newbs" who don't know the difference between a good mmo and pretty graphics with 4 year-old game play mechanics.

Good point and all but, hey, this IS a forum about the most controversial genre in the business besides FPS (I dunno what you think GTA is in but lets just say its an FPS)
There are always going to be negative and positive threads, without them this would be one lame, carebear forum.
It's like playing Shadowbane and expecting to get help outside of safe areas
So if I'm laughing at you, what does that say?
So don't post anti-crap. Crap doesn't disappear. Rather, ignore the crap and post quality stuff. That way, more people are attracted to what you're saying rather than to the crap other people are saying. Flaming crappers doesn't gain respect and readers that truly care.
