Ok, so basically I downloaded the 14 day trial. Currently on day 2 and am enjoying it, to say the least.

My questions are pretty basic, and all I want to know is this-

-What kind of things can you exactly do in this game besides do missions, mine, or PvP? I'm sure you could start a corp but I would only be interested in joining one as I wouldn't have time to really devote myself to one.

I'm coming from WoW as the game is becoming incredibly boring after playing for 1yr3mos and i'm looking for something new and I seem to be enjoying the depth that EVE Online has to offer. I especially enjoy the customization and the look and feel of space.

Thanks.

Well, the thing is that EVE doesnt really give you the content however it provides players tools to make content. Like market economy, 0.0 space, corpoaration wars and so on.

Your missions, mining, pirate (npc) killing and PvPing, are all tools.

The real game begins when you join corporation and join political arena. Goals vary from corporation to corporation but we all here to have fun so it is important to find corporation that has same goals as you do.

For example, if you are very competetive and really into PvP you want to consider corporations that are in 0.0 space. There are no game rules there except the ones players make. Most likely 0.0 corporation will be a part of an alliance that will be claiming some part of 0.0 space. It is up to its pilots to, gather resources off their systems, protect their space and conquer new space if possible.

Some people just like to be filthy rich and have nothing to do with PvP. They go into corporations that do just mining and production.

Ulitmately EVE lets you do whatever you want to do, dont think that missions and mining is the actual content, because it is not. If you will get stuck on either for too long you will burn out very fast (same thing if you raid in WoW every day 5 hours a day).

It makes no sense to ask that question on a forum. 10 say yes, 10 say no, what do you do now? Best is still to try out the Trial and see for yourself. Ask about that things unclear to you in the game's help channels or the official forum (or here), and build you own opinion. You have to see for yourself what EVE has to offer and if it is your kind of game. But if it makes you feel better: you can count me to the "yes" people.

Only you can decide that.  Just download the trial and see for yourself.

SOE knows what you like... You don't!
And don't forget... I am forcing you to read this!

So true.  You'll either love EVE or hate it.  One thing I would stress is there are plenty of greifers out there.  Count on being ganked at least once within the first month or two.  If that's not your cup of tea then I'd caution you not to pick it up.

    yep.
The game has a very steep learning curve. Lots to take in very fast.

first few weeks can be very confusing, but if you like it - welcome aboard!

Yes, the learning curve is very steep, but rewarding.  There IS more to do than just mine and run missions.  Players have created multi billion isk corporations that build and run entire space stations that other players can dock at and utilize the services.  There are venture capitalists that invest money in different ventures... You can basically do pretty much what you want.  The game doesn't really offer artificial limitations.... you want to PVP in a safe area?  Go ahead, but, Concord (the police) will be there in seconds to destroy you.  The sky is the limit.
