ok I am really interested in buying this game for many reasons, I own WoW and Guild Wars + Factions, I've had with guild wars I'm gonna throw it away or sell my account because the game has just gotten extremely boring. One thing I did like about guild wars was the fact that partys were neccessary for missions and this helped people build relationships and a better community (even tho it's a fair sh!t community IMO) anyways guild wars also had the problem when you were in a party 6/8 or 7/8 and you need a monk/s but that didnt really bother me much for these reasons I think final fantasy would be the perfect game for me. I also own WoW and have gotten extremely bored of the repetitive questing and blandness of the game the furthest i have been on wow to be honest is level 20 and I read that the endgame is terrible so yer I havn't played that game in a awhile. I will keep it and see how the expansion goes. but yer I am in need of a decent mmo, I am a big fan of final fantasy and from what I read it seems like the game for me. If you guys could give me any insights or opinions I would greatly appreiciate it I will be buying the game for PC.

Up until level 10 you solo.

After level 10 you are forced to party unless you're one of a couple jobs that can do well on their own.

Grinding takes a very long time, so unless you have a decent chunk of your day to dump into the game (partys generally get mad if you leave before being there for 3 hours or so).

Only problem is you need a certain party setup except for a few rare cases.

You need a tank (someone to take damage.
    A healer
A support job (refresh, buffs, debuffs, etc)
    and damage dealers.

A lot of the time what happens is you'll have everything looking for a party except a healer or something, wich means you cant do anything because you need that if you want to survive.

The community in FFXI is probably one of the best around right now.

Oh and endgame, theres TONS of things to do. Never gets old.

yeah, from what i've played it's a pretty time-consuming game. but the community is TOP-NOTCH.

I can't really say anything since I haven't gotten very far yet, but from a new players point of view, it indeed seems that there's another player behind every corner just waiting to get to help you out. So the community does seem nice.

Yeah, another point about the community.

Each server has players from North America, Europe, and Asia, wich means the population online stays the same all day, theres never a time during the day when there are less people on the server, it stays at a constant amount most of the time. My server usually drifts between 2500 and 4500 people online at any point in time.

yeah i think youll like this game. if your a man who enjoys his community. i sure did enjoy it. but just a hint to make some good friends, you got to drop the "O" word, thats right own. it makes you sound a bit immature, which i know isnt the case. but anyways you should know that the combat is much slower. its not like guild wars or WoW where your constantly clicking. but i say its worth a try.

You really need a white mage in your party, its a must. And if you dont like sitting around waiting this isnt a good choice because you can expect periods of up to an hour waiting for parties. at Level 43 I sit around for 3 hours untle i give up :/   Of course you can be a White Mage. You will get party invites left and right.

I've been in plenty of parties with configuarations that don't include a white mage, but you do need a healer of some kind.  Red Mages and Blue Mages can often play these roles during the early levels, and other jobs that sub white mage can help out a lot too.  Even Corsairs and Bards have party regenerating abilities, so you can do many different combinations to get the job done if you can't find a white mage.

I'd say give the game a shot if you're interested in it.  There's really a lot to like in it, and I haven't found one as enjoyable yet.

I have played a lot of MMO's and FFXI is the only one that has kept me coming back and yearning for more. It can be a bit difficult at 1st but once you get the hang of your job and how the party mechanics work the game can be really fun. i played WoW for 6 months i got to the highest lvl which is 60, and had absolutly nothing to do besides some half-assed PvP and grind dungeons for high-lvl armor. In FFXI once you get to lvl 75 which is the highest lvl there is still sooo much stuff dto do, i never get bored. Another great thing aboiut FFXI is when u wanna try a different job, all you have have to do is go to your mog house and change your job to what ever you want, as opposed to logging onto a different char. every time.I have over 220 real days logged into this game and there is still soo much i want and need to do in this game yet. Bottom line... FFXI is the deepest and most challenging game i have ever played!

Personally I enjoyed FFXI. The thing is if you have friends to go on with it then you'll like it. Other wise its kinda awkward. Its a fun game just really long and pretty hard. (BTW that game is kinda confusing getting the controls to get use to. Think of playing a FF game and you should get the hang of it easily.)

    Siehst du mich
    Erkennst du mich
    Ganz tief in meinem Herz
ist noch ein Platz f?r dich
    Ich suche dich
    Ich sehne mich
nach dem was ich geliebt hab
    doch ich find es nicht
