Rangers in DAoC...

I love ranger classes in MMORPGs.

Can anyone tell me how they play here?  I've been thinking about giving Darkage a go and was wondering how rangers played out.

Does it take a while before you start using your bow?  Is most of your combat ranged or do you just pull with a bow and end up in melee most of the time? :)

    You get your bow at lvl 5, And while you can melee after about lvl 20ish you really don't want to. Your a ranged damage dealer. 90% of all targets will be dead long before they get to you and for the other 10% well thats what Kiting is for .




    DOAC is still the MMO I judge other games by, My first and still my favorite.

    what type of Archer class are you wanting to play? there are 3

    Ranger -hiberina

    Scout Albion-this is my class

    Hunter-mid

    you will want to go with scout to be honest, yea rangers get better melee and buffs, but the scout gets slam ( a 9 second stunn) thats enough time for 2 crit shots or about 6 rapid shots... There's a scout on Mordred.... well was (i havnt played in a long time) who would slam stealthers and 1-2 shot them no questions asked... dude hit for 1k+ a critshot... pissed me the hell off... but yea if ur going for archer then go scout imo
