Is this game for the casual gamer as well?

Hi there...

I was just wondering if this game can be played by the casual gamer?

What I mean is will I get anywhere at all - lvls, items etc - when I can only play for like an hour every day? I'm basically talking solo'ing mostly since grouping require too much attention compared to what I have to give - lots of afk's and stuff due to RL obligations (family).

I know I can download a free trial but would like opinions (both new players and experienced(higher lvs)) before I invest any time into it.

Is soloing viable low and high lvl?

Thanks in advance for all your replies :)

This game is one of the MOST casual Friendly MMORPG's out there.

There are a few lvls where you will almost want to get into a group to get past those lvls and when you get into your HERO lvls you will want to group when you can to get the best exp and to take down the Big mobs.

But other then that this game is VERY fun by yourself or with a few friends. Give you an example:

I am a LvL 56 Alchemist on DT and with just ME, My brother a DMG dealer, My friends a TANK, and my other brother a Healer we are set to go do our own hunting.

When I am bored of cant get my friend together I go out and do Solo quests and fight in areas designed for soloing.

    Hope this helps

Game is solo friendly on the beginning, most of the low lvl quests is easly soloable.

Higher in levels however more and more often you would like to get into group. High lvl quests are almost exclusively group quests. It does not mean you must group, you can still do fairy well solo if you are prepared to advance slower than people who group all the time, do quests like crazy and hunt highest lvl critters in game.

At any level you can just pop in for an hour or 2 kill some badies, grab some loot and log out satisfied. If you happend to have a couple of more hours during the weekend or something you can get in fellow do some questing etc etc etc...

Give it a try game is definetly worth it.

And besides, like it or not, people do try to "win" massively multiplayer RPGs. The rules of engagement are something like this:
    * If there is a status bar, make it grow bigger
    * If there is a number, make it higher
    * If it moves, either get a mission from it or kill it

Just download the game and play for free.

No credicards needed, just a .net (hotmail) account... you can try it out for 14 days.  It's pretty neat... I found out a lot of way to gain levels and not do a damn thing... the game itself is very very broken.

What ways? Only way is leeching. But most ppl won't tolerate this and they'll kick you out of fellowship.

The other way is getting xp from vassals. But you can only gain small percentage of XP needed for next level from vassals.

    So, what ways??

Yes. The game can be played in any way you like. In some levels you can even progress faster with solo hunting. But be sure to take a class which can solo hunt.

I remember sitting back with a few buddies playing some music while this level 40+ guy was doing a quest, and everytime he beat the quest I would gain five levels doing nothing...  AC2 is very broken.

There is one quest when you can do it - Moarsman. You wont make a level becouse by the time you can get that level you need to make it a few times to gain a level. This is one example and it does not make game broken in any way.

You dont play AC2 so all your opinions are based on the past experience (let me guess beta?), game changes drastically every month. In early beta you could get to lvl 40 only by doing vaults do you really think you still can do it? Get some first hand current experience before start spreading false information.

And oh you can do moarsman every 24 hrs not more often so "every time he beat the quest" is laughable.

Wow, you're so wrong I almost pissed my pants....  I've played this game not to long ago, and if you want to, you can still call it a BETA... and when they put all the servers into one big on and there's still no more then 500 people... Why don't we just call it Shadowbane 2?

You need to understand who you're talking to before you deciede to try and be bitter.
