Title says it all.
Quite often if not in every post someone asks for a new game ,there will always be a recommended game that is not rleased and most of the time pre beta.
Why ?You never played it ,you have no idea what it will and yet people recommend it.
I recall ppl screaming for ppl to wait for DnL,DDO etc.Now its wait for conan,WAR,vanguard. You have no idea what this games are like so STOP recommending them .

In America I have bad teeth. If I lived in England my teeth would be perfect.
but you never answered his question..
how can you recommend something sight-unseen?
I admit I have recomended someone investigate an unreleased game occasionally, but that is generally because they want somethign specific that isn't currently available. I try not to, but sometimes there isn't anything along the lines of what they want in the current selection.
There is an unfortunate issue though in unreleased games. Those who have played them in alphas and closed betas can't talk about a game good or bad due to NDAs. So those who have seen the game can't recommend it which generally leaves zealous fans recommending a game and other downing a game with neither having personal experience.
This is why I almost always only pre order games I have beta'd or alpha'd with few exceptions, it is far too difficult to determine how accurate a recommendation is. Well, unless it is from someone I know or have interacted with for a while.
So let me see if I understand your point.
1) It is wrong for a person to recommend a game when they haven't had a chance to see if their opinion matches with reality. A reality which won't be verified until the game is available.
2) It is ok for you to have an opinion on their recommendation when you don't know if their opinion matches with reality. A reality which won't be verified until the game is available.
So are we talking about your opinion should be more correct than theirs?
Anyway really does a game recommendation have to be out? If I said hey these games match your taste, 2 on the market and then said also this which isn't out but along the lines what you are looking for. It doesn't hurt, of course people should acknowledge its not out yet but its a recommendation that it COULD be a game that that person might be interested in and therefore perhaps take a gander. Its not like saying BUY THAT BUY THAT which seems to be almost insinuated.
