Actually I wanted to discuss targeting.
After reading your feedback and playtesting large scale battles,
considerations are being made that involve possibly, maybe improving
the attack "safety" feature of the targeting interface by having the
client automatically aim at your target for you (targeting reticle goes
away for "safety" mode & attacks just go off on your
intended target provided that you have line of sight). Everything else
pretty much stays the same. It's all just conjecture at this point and
this post is by no means a prediction or promise of any kind.
Feedback?

Seems a lot like the targeting the previously had to me. So if their NGE is soooo great why do they keep putting in parts of the old system? I mean don't they realize they are doing this? or do they really believe this is "new content." I mean the mass pvp thing in restuss is even bringing back some of the old, except in PRE-CU we didn't need a "event" it just happened. Mass PVP would spring up all the time.
Oh well it just kind of made me chuckle....

Oh well this game is doomed. Bring on SWG2 without SOE.
The one thing that makes all the sense in the world ( at least to me ) which is the one thing that will sadly never hapen is incorporating multiple server sets. Pre-CU, RP Pre-CU, full on PvP Pre-CU, NGE, ETC.. A little something for everyone.
The reason this hasn't happened is perfectly clear to me. At some point in time, both Smedley and Jim Ward decided the NGE was the way to go and gave the green light to the devs to proceed. If some pre-cu servers were to go up, what are the odds that they would be making more with subs than any NGE server? How do you justify to the stockholders that the worst option is the one you continue to spend money on? How do you justify to the stockholders that you are so clueless as to what the customers want and yet remain as CEO?
They can continue to with the NGE, spending a little money here and there with their silly 3 month publish cycle, and then quietly announce they are closing it when nobody is left to care. Smedley and Ward will brush it under the carpet, and we will have to hope the emu gets off it's feet.

3 month publish cycle? This is how they are doing the pubs now? releasing one every three months?

Half that figure and you're getting closer.

Last 3 every 2 months. This looks like how they will be coming out for now on.

Sums up my feelings about SWG pretty well

I was still just as close as he was :P
Besides, who wants to go back to the days where a publish was on TC for a week at most, was only nerfs and then crashed the servers for over a day?

From what I have been reading its worse. People get on TC, report serious issues, get ignored by the Devs, and then it goes live with all the problems still there. To me, SOE is just using TC as an interest generating thing to keep people playing.
It looks like the Restuss Event is totally messed up. Yes some were able to figth through the lag or could deal with it but everything I have seen on it, it still needs alot of work. Who wants to bet it goes live "as is" or with minimal bug fixes????
