Cabal Online? Could be a breath of fresh air to MMORPG's

Recently, Cabal Online has made it into closed BETA. From what I have heard the combat is very immersive, excellent content as most quests have different stages to them, and graphics to boot.

I applied for the closed BETA, hopefully I will get in. Any constructive criticism from any BETA testers? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Check out the main website at: http://www.cabalonline.com/, whatch the vid too, very sick!

Wow, this is the kind of combat I've always wanted in a MMORPG. This game look's like it can turn out to be a very fun game. A bit of fresh air in the MMORPG genre indeed.
  • It reminds me of Soul Caliber for some reason.

If they're under an NDA, they better not respond.

Fighting looks very console-ish rpg to me.  Not that it's a bad thing, just my opinion

Holy hell, that video is badass. Anybody know who is making/publishing this? I couldnt find it on the site anywhere. The quality and effects in that video look a little to good for indie.

Guys, remember one thing: Its a korean MMO.

I'm just informing you, keep this in mind before you sign up

so we don't get whine topics "the grind is so bad /cry /cry"

The grind is absolutly not bad, you always have quests to do. The rewards are pretty good too, as in exp and money. Better, if you level by only grinding it will takes much much longer. This is not the standard korean mindless grinding game.

I like the combat, it's fast and fun. Especially with the combo system.

I wouldn't hold my breath for this one. It will probably come bundled with the typical problems of korean MMO's, like hacking, lack of content, grind centric gameplay, poor quality programming ect. Just because the video looks good doesn't mean it's going to be teh pwnage or anything. All in all, I wouldn't be surprised if this game surfaced, only to dissapear due to a lack of revenue.

Lets see. Free to play, korean made...

No thanks. I would be shocked if this could hold my interest for more than an hour or two.

First of all, i'm playing for 3 days now, and this is by far the most bugfree closed beta ever. Only saw a couple of small bugs which didn't really bother anyone gameplay wise, also the translation is better than most korean mmo's. Yeah, the content isn't as deep as WoW, but it keeps you going for a pretty long time. This game has good potential.

Funny how everyone already knows how the game is just because its originally korean. ::::12::

It's also funny how you can freely comment about your experiences in game that is in closed beta, while if you were actually in it, you would be under an NDA.

    *cough*lies*cough*

The game itself does look alright, looking at the video closely I had more of an impression of a korean-styled Guild Wars with many varied battle animations. Not at all a bad thing.

Well when the Koreans are able to come out with a decent game I won't be so quick to judge anymore. As it stands that is yet to happen.

Nice graphics. Overblown effects. Lack of gameplay or depth. Grind, grind, hack, grind...

Ok, i'm going to try and answer a few questions. First, as far as I know there is no NDA for this BETA at all, if you want some more info check out http://www.cabalonline.com/forum/index.php

Also, the game will be p2p once it is released, I have heard that is it a little buggy (camera angles are the main area of concern here). Even the so called "grind" in this game can be fun with the way the combat system is setup. This game concentrates more on the skill of the player rather than the level, check out the thread about the combo's with the combat system on their forum. Seem's pretty interesting, I'm still waiting on my e-mail for my closed beta account *crosses fingers*.

Lol guess that did it for me then. I've sworn that I'd never to p2p for a Korean MMORPG.

The combat seems like a overblown enhanced version of Diablo 2? I mean, it's not auto click... now you just have click each time?

I'd like to see how combat is skilled in this game, so I'll keep an eye on it.

NDA? Know your stuff before you call someone a liar. There is no NDA in this beta.

Sounds like WOW in a nutshell to me. Nice graphics. Overblown effects. Lack of PvP gameplay or depth. Grind, hack, grind, hack, DKP, grind, hack.

All MMO's are grinding in some form or other; if a game can keep you amused during that time it'll keep you for a while. WOW did, but then it failed the meaning of PvP.

Looks interesting does CABAL. Korean MMOs usually bring some interesting concepts to MMOs; I don't mind the grind as long as there's some PvP/lots of quests to do.
