LucasArts and SOE have announced that the developers of the controversial game, Star Wars: Galaxies, would be hosting a new community summit in San Diego on July 20th and 21st:

Members of the LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment development teams are going back out on the road to continue our Community Summits. This is where players have the chance to talk with SWG's developers face-to-face, find out about upcoming plans and future developments for the game, ask questions in a live Q&A format, and connect with fellow players. More chances for them to make promises they won't follow through on.
I don't think they actually care what any player has to say. This is just an excuse for them to get out of the office and travel a little on the company's dime.
Star Wars Galaxies development team members from LucasArts and
Sony Online Entertainment will be traveling across the U.S. in a series
of Community Summits. Additional cities, including cities in Europe, will
be added in the future.

Only SOE could call flying a few guys out to San Diego as "Going back out on the road " "Across the U.S. and Europe".
They know what the players want, they just refuse to do it and that is atleast have 1 or 2 pre cu servers. They also know that NGE basically killed the game yet they are just now reimplementing things back into the game that they stupidly took out of the game like target lock.Now they have to introduce some sort of sink holes and get rid of the drop loot clothing,weapons and armor that are better then what any crafter can make to rejumpstart the economy and also bring back creature handler and bio engineer.
The SOE HQ is about 9 miles north of the Marriott ( which I work acrioss from) and the weekend that they so magnanimous to hold another summitt . Well , they are not travelling 9 miles for Just the SWG, Nope SOE is here to pormote their future - the DC heroes MMO at the Comic COM just a block or SOE down the street.
And You would think that SOE would move a finger for SWG:NGE ...... nope unless it is very convient.

Why? They don't listen to anything anyone has to say unless its what they want to hear anyway. All they did with the last round of "summits" was shoot their mouths off with a bunch of empty promises and shrug at the few critics who bothered to show up. Players made enough good suggestions to fill a volume of encyclopedias while that game was in its heyday and in the end the only people SOE listened to were those who quit for WoW and EQ2.
