Let's play the Stratics HOC game!

KenshuAniKenshuAni Member CommonPosts: 851

The SWG developers are attending another Stratic's House of Commons chat.  Let's play a game.

Rules are simple.  Just post the question you think will LEAST likely be passed on to the developers (and therefore not answered).

Here is my question:

Approximately how many subscriptions did SOE lose when they pushed the NGE through, and approximately how many active subscriptions does the NGE have?

Not in this publish or the near future.

(Oh and if this is not the answer then I will use this one)

That is working as intended (A oldy but a goody) --

A better question would be which one has the potential of being the most talked about with the least amount actually being said for this addition of HoC.  The answer to that question would be Restuss as they will be eager to answer any question about how "iconic and starwarsy" it will be yet not address concerns over performance, AI issues as well as how pointless it is to have such a PvP arena setup with great opportunities for cover yet the game still has laser bolts that bend and curve to hit 100% of the time as well as no attacks past 64 meters.  Either way it'll be more smoke blown up viewers asses to which both sides (fanbois and haters) will argue over till the next edition of HoC.

I have no respect for Stratics.  At least since the NGE, if not longer they've just been shills for SOE toting the company line with SWG.  Their forums are terrible with any anti-SOE threads locked or deleted.  They won't allow any hard questions, or any questions that aren't praise or fanboi drooling over new content.  It's just another way for SOE to blow the same smoke up everyone's asses.
The Stratics chats are basically the same PR spin and lies that anyone can get on the SOE forums.
Not even worth the time to read logs afterward.

    SWG Tempest: Cardo Dycen RIP
    Eve: Cardoh Dycen
I support random drug testing for all SOE employees

    Let's be fair here.

I think that Stratics' HOC chat has been tossing softball questions to every developing company.  Not just SOE.

Here is one that will never pass though:

How, after what you have done to the players of this game with two drastic revisions in less than a year, and 7 months after the last still having a game that most will agree isn't fun, you can sleep at night?

    Or this one:

When do the classic servers open?  We know they are inevitable :)

How about "When will the classic servers be up and running?"

It sounds great, so great in fact, I pitty those who canceled :( - Some deluded SWG fanboi who pities me.
I don't like it when you say things. - A Vanguard fan who does too.

Soon as the emulator is released :)

That's what I love about the existance of the emu project...  Just by existing and making progress towards the inevitable when it will be playable, it and the sagging subscriber numbers increase the pressure on SOE to do classic servers.  Even if they don't, we will have the emulator.

Either way, pre-CU players win.  SOE can win too, if they do classic servers, if they don't, they lose.

How about 3 years, 3 different games, creating some of the most embittered game veterans ever.  When are you just going to pull the plug?  :)

    I got a few

How many players will get booted off line by the explosion in Reustuss(sp) when the event hits live? How soon do you expect the next wave of mass cancellations after that event?

Given your track record of promises to the players,

    • The smuggler revamp,
    • Creature handler necklaces on Mustafar,
    • Completion of the legacy quests, more quests added to the game,
    • bugs fixed in a timely manner,
    • and being open and honest with the community regarding the state of the game,

Do you think many people will show up for your summits?

    Follow up question

Should they believe anything you say?

ok so more like 3 but you get the point.

You said that a SWG emulator couldn't be made. How does it feel to be wrong?

I think I'm going to play the "what's the point of the stratics HoC 'chat'" and just wait for the edited, sanitized, version sometime tomorrow. Or the next day.

I dont even bother listening to these clowns nowadays but what would i ask hmm:

"Why is every page of my games instruction manual incorrect after all it was SOE who put it on the shelfs i bought it from"

I think flooding the HOC chat with questions obviously designed to aggrevate will not go over well.

But asking reasonable questions that DO address your point would be an excellent representation of interested players.

LOL because CSRs know even less than ANYONE else involved in providing the SWG service.  Which is a huge compliment to the development team.

Oh common they get the memos & minutes from any meeting - just like any organized company.

A CSR know's more than what he/she tells you - but in any case why would i want to listen to something that has been through the SOE NAZI filter before it gets to them?

Dont spam them with things they dont like ? well perhaps telling them "DONT do things to players they dont like will make them learn".

Well, no shit.  Any question with a negative connotation "will not go over well."  It's a touchy-feely group grope.  Do you think the President of the United States takes random questions from random citizens?  No.  All the people are filtered, and all the questions are scrubbed to spin the right way.  Will SOE do the same thing?  Of course.

Let's see the kind of questions that are chosen for answers, and then we'll see just how "useful" the HoC is.

Sure. Take a drink everytime they say:
    - Not in chapter 2 or near future
    - There will be no rollback
    - There are no plans for PS3
    - This is currently in pipeline

You'll be out in 10 minutes.
  • BissrokBissrok Member Posts: 1,002
Ugh, that was stupid. "Will there be more quests as the Restuss event goes on?" Yikes. Most of the questions were just asking when some of the bugs are going to be fixed.

Counted about 70 [SWGEmu] tags though. Out of 340 people, that ain't bad.

[17:34] <Brannoc> *ArkonisMaximus* What is being done to better the combat/targeting system?

Auto-aiming is making a comeback to SWG.  You'll have a choice between
manual aiming (the way it is now) and auto-aiming (classic MMO
    targeting).

    For the Horde!

    Target Lock FTW!

Somebody should offer Helios some ketchup with that crow he's eating.  Goes down easier.

Dang you ADD leet kiddies. You want everything force fed to you, don't you.

In my days, we didn't have 'em auto target thingamajigs. No siree. We had to aim ourselves. AND WE LOVED IT!

And now you have it all easy. I say phooi. AND GET OFF MY LAWN!
