PvP tips - going red

I found this on a fan site it was writen by a guy named Youkai

As there are usually a lot of questions and misconceptions when it comes to L2 PvP maybe this will help clear it up.

As a player of Lineage 2 there are things you should know about attacking other players.



-Flagging

This is the term used when some one attacks another player and their name changes purple. People will go crazy and start PMing other "high level" friends saying that some one flagged on them. So before you flag make sure that you are either already friends with the person or know you are going to kill this person with the intent of be persued by other players. It is also common to have people bully you around about going purple just because they are high level and they think they rule the server.



-Going Red

This what happens after you have flagged and have killed the person when they have not fought back. Now you might think that Red looks like a cool color for your name but that is bad. Red means three things: Death, death, and death. When your name turns red that signifies that you have killed some one. If you check your Character Status you will see that your Karma has gone up.



Untill your Karma comes down through either killing monsters or death will your Karma come down. Untill you have reached zero you are a branded with the tilte, "PK'er" (Player Killer). This means you will be hunted down by the person you killed friends come to slay you. If you are unfortunate enough to come by a high level character on your quewst to lower your Karma, you will most likely be killed.
