Found this on YouTube, a video that says goodbye to the Japan servers. Probably one of the better SWG videos out there. I'll admit, I did find the end part kinda sad
Well....I am now completely depressed. The ending certainly dredged up painful memories of 11-15-05. The video was certainly well done - evokes strong emotions. /shakes fist at $OE
That's a great video. A nice overview of the game over time. The music was perfectly synched to the action. Thanks to the person who linked the Flintstones video, it was a good antidote for the misty eye problem brought on by the first video.
I have to say, with a bit of distance from the gameworld and its dramas, and having played/looked at a few other things since March (DAOC/DDO/WOW soon to be EQ2, Vanguard, LOTRO, Oblivion *best game ever*) that, even after all that has been done to it, the Star Wars world and its characters lend themselves best to just plain having fun of a dozen different types. I read other forums and everyone is wound pretty tight, I log in to SWG after a few months and there is a big ol' wookiee running around with the name Meeeeeeeeee, rofl. It still has the most potential for being anything you want it to be. I can only think that it is a tribute to the source material. /deepbow George for thinking all this stuff up.
=(, defently was the best game ever.......... only game i could stand to play for more then a month....... hell i played swg for 2.5 years, even beta tested it
Great video, some real nice reinactments with scenes from Episode III.
_____ When Sony and Lucas set out to create the NGE, we said, How can we do this and make it similar to WoW? We wanted it to be all about Iconic characters like Luke, combat and locking our players into a class. So we created a system that would restrict players and make all professions the same and there would be minimal gameplay around making that change. We definitely borrowed a lot of ideas from WoW that worked and figured out how to make them fit for SWG Julio Torres (2005)
Ask them then ask them why we did have it and it was not live --
It was in the tre files and this was discussed once... then some of us WERE asked not to bring it up no joke...
But this is like saying "Please do not bring up the fact Jedi have 0 defenses once"... they did not want anyone to know this for some reason.. no joke.

There has to be something that we, as consumers, can do to get a solid Star Wars MMO that isn't the crappy NGE.
It's a testament to how much we all loved SWG before the changes that so many people who don't even play anymore still frequent this board and post nostalgic and/or angry comments.
What can we do to get SWG back in a form that we like, or at least a sequel that isn't cheesed up?

I'm close to tears thanks to that video. And now?
I despise SOE more than ever.
