Question on the Axis Navy

I was wondering, are there any Axis submarines?  I play Silent Hunter III and love it, but there is no live interaction with players.  Sure there is multiplayer, but not against PC ships.

Submarines were plentyful in the early days of WW2.  Of course the death statistics were unbelieveable.

60,000 men were submariners, but only 10,000 made it home by the end of the war.

    Unfortunately, no submarines yet. I don't believe there will ba any added anytime in the near future either. It requires the new game engine, which is in development, for them to function properly I believe. Though I know some were designed by the devs a few years back. I even saw screenies of them back then, so I think once the new engine is created, they would be added when dev time allows.  ;)

    The game lacks a hydro model so their is no depth to the water.  As
    Pruitt said when the new terrain engine is out probably next year
    according to one of the Rats subs will be possible.  Currently the only
    ships for all 3 navies are transports, destroyers, and river patrol
    boats.

    And who would really like to drive a submarine in real time with that slow speed, would take ages to go around
