Why is this game so hyped?

Please note: I am not flamming the game, I genuinely want to know why it's so popular.
So, I was watching WAR for a while and now that EA has taken over the message boards for it have pretty much died. I haven't been following AoC because I don't let other people deside which next-gen games I watch. I think that's a pretty samrt desicion after the DnL fiasco 
But anyway, I wanted to know what makes this game so popular and still don't understand. Could someone explain?
Is it graphics? Cause my computer is oooollllldddd, I use it to run CoH, Warhamer 40k: DoW, Rise of Nations and other 2 year old games. If graphics is this game's selling point, then it would save me time not to care.
I've heard alot of "OMGOZERS, BLOOD!" comments? No offence to the followers of this game but from the comments I've seen it seems like Conan's followers are horny 13 year olds that are angery because people's heads don't explode in Halo. Is there a big deal to this or is this game just not for me because I'm not excited about my screen turning red?
Is there more to combate then point and click? "Real Combate" sounds cool but TCoS's systme sounds much cooler and it will be out before Conan.
The Conan World seems cool but I don't really get into it as much as Warhammer or Fantasy(TCoS). Is this why this game is being followed?
I dunno, any help is appreiciated.

Sure there is blood and you can chop off heads,arms,legs etc but thats not the real pull in my case.
First off magic is not like in all tradisional games. There is "regular" magic like a buff, and the heal. But no flurry of fire bolts etc etc. They are looking at magic as a very dangous road, it can even backfire if abused.
Conan is aiming to be a brutal world. Allmost barbaric when it comes to combat. You might remember games like Blade of Severance, and Die by the Sword...this is the type of interactive combat it will have. You pick the area to strike at.
A cool detail is when u swing your axe the FULL motion is active in the sence that when you swing back and a mob is standing there is to will get hit by your motion...gotta love that detail.
They are adding some cool PvP comcepts. One I love is Bar Fights. Were anyone, no matter level, can go in and drink (different alchol types give different effects) and fight eachother. No punishment if u lose you just get thrown out by the bouncer. hehe.
Also they are adding RTS into the mix. Think of a huge map were there are 2 sides just like in the old school Command & Concour games. You get to BUILD buildings etc to advance and fight war against the other side. FunCOm has stated that battles like this can last up to weeks...I am guessing this will be pretty cool for guilds.
The mounted combat looks amazing as well. BTW FunCom are the FIRST to motioncapture a horse for this game. The momentum of your mount will allso effect the dmg you do when/if you hit...another cool detail.
You can also take command as an leader of a group/raid, set them up in formations for different attack stats/style for the situation...looking very forward to see how this is gonna work.
I could go on and on, but I am tired. To put it short, AoC is going to be an Action MMO with VERY heavy focus on combat...

Reason what its hype:
-Funcom is making it.
-Its Conan universe.
-Combat. I really like the way the combat system sounds and looks. I like the idea of being able to fight on horse back
-pvp system looks fun
After playing most popular mmo's over the last 5 years I can say this one looks like it might be better than the rest, not breaking the mold but better.
Multiple reasons for the recent hype of AoC.
First of all, AoC won multiple awards at this years E3, which increased exposure.
Second, it is a showcase game for Windows Vista.
Thirdly, it looks and sounds great!!
Great PvP
Awesome graphics
Deep and meaningful crafting
Complex combat system
City building and huge combat formations
Complex magic-weaving feature
Finally a mature MMO
Innovative approach starting out in a single player mode
