The movie Starship Troopers was loosely based on a book by the same name written by Robert A. Heinein and published in 1959. If you are a fan of Starship Troopers the movie, I urge you to pick up that book so that you can see what the movie should've been like.

In the book, the soldiers used exo-suits that gave them super human strength, allowed them to jump high and all that other cool stuff. One soldier was also literaly a one man army who carried mini-nuclear weapons with him.

Now if they made a game based on the book, I would buy it in a heartbeat. However, more than likely, they will make the game based on a movie.

By the way, I think that the only part that the movie got right was that humans were fighting bugs. Oh and the name of course.

    Aock.

Starship Trooper isn't the only game that crosses my mind when one is talking about movies or games that should be made or remade into MMORPGs.

Couple of games I think should be remade into MMORPGs are Morrowinds, GTA 3, Dune, NwN (which technically cannot be said to be a MMORPG), etc...

I would LOVE to see a Morrowind MMOG!  The game is already halfway there anyway.  I can honestly say that Morrowind was the best non-MM RPG I have ever played (er...well maybe Baldur's Gate could squeeze into first, but it'd be close).

It seems like Bethesda could make the move with little effort, well, little compared to building a MMOG from scratch.

I would love to see dune!  I would love to see ravenloft turned into an mmorpg...can't beat the world of strahd!  and as far as starship troopers...bodies and the death don't bother me..it was the horrid effects...they weren't really that special...plus bugs shooting things out of their ass as planetary defense is just wrong lol

dune would be great as a mmorpg, maybe even tribes.

Ravenloft would make a great MMORPG. Strahd, Lord Soth that little waredwarf thing. Knight of the Black Rose and Spectre of the Black Rose are some of my favorite books. Although, the game probably won't appeal to the people who want to be the good guys because from what I can see the world of Ravenloft has no good guys.

I belive that recent series by philip paulman would make an amazing mmorpg, I think it was called dark materials.

Are you talking about The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass?  I agree those were very good books, although im not sure they would make a very good game.

Yes those were the books, although the first on in my country was called northern lights.
Maybe not the whole series, but the ideas behind them of the daemon would be interesting.
