To me, Flyff is just a grind fest.

It is fun leveling up, like at the beginning of most MMORPGs.  The graphics are fine and the music is good for a free game.  The lag at times is horrible but 95% of the time it's ok.

But the grind is just too much.  Go to spot x.  Find mob to kill.  Kill mob 100 times.  Go to town, sell loot.  Then go back, do it again.  Next level, I get a better weapon, better damage, more health, more skills, and yet now I have to kill 150 mobs that are slightly harder.  There is very little choice in which mob you have to kill also, as there are just set spawns of mobs.

Also, the skills at low levels are very limited.  I only press 3 buttons for hours upon hours, hoping someday to get to level 15, where I can press 4 buttons.  Now the next set of new skills I don't get until level 60, which by my estimate is a month of mindless grinding away.  And what is the reward once you get there?  Nothing that I can see, except more of the same slow progression and grinding.  There is no castle builinding or town raiding, etc.

But it's free so try it and find out for yourself.  That's just my 2 cents.

    MMORPGs are virtual skinner boxes.

Much more things to do then kill, lv up and buy stuff. You can go to the duel arena and show everyone whos the powner! You can also gain a PvP rank. Get to lv 20 and hop on your brooms and board, no region of the Flyff World is forbidden that way so go enjoy the scenery, don't miss Darkon 3, it's amazing, oh and snap some shots too. Do the scenario quests, they're long but they give good rewards(Scenario 4 gives 2.4 mill)If you're an assist...lv your buffs to become ultimately powerful! Get to lv 60 to get to 2nd class to increase the fun and power! Grab some friends and make a party! And so much more!

I think fly for fun is a really good game, some people say that theres grinding..but what mmorpg doesnt? its either grind or leveling so dang fast you dont wanna play anymore because you get so pro too fast and everything is messed. It's not for small girls  Well im 15 and i LIKE those kind of graphics..Sometimes it gets boring, especially when youre a vagrant but after that when you have alot more skills and stuff...I find that if im bored i just find someone to level with or do quests. Although its VERY frustrating when you cant heal yourself or anything because of lag and end up dying and losing percent. What i really hate is when people play for about..an hour and say the game is junk, thats soooooooooo retarded. They increased the drop rates for quest items which is really good (memories of finding freaking items for quests) maybe its TOO high now but its all good hahaha a bad thing though is if youre an assist and youre going around places and you have a mob of 20 level 16s chasing you *Uses burst crack on all of them* WAHAHAHHAA

My own personal view on this game hasn't changed since day 1: It's horrible.

It is very much like every other korean/chinese free-MMO out there, with the exception of being able to fly.  I'm getting sick and tired of seeing a copy&pasted MMO being squeezed out of there every 5 seconds with each game released having obviously no effort put into gameplay or customer service.

If you really must play a free MMO, just stick with the most popular one.  It honestly doesn't matter which korean MMO you play as they are all the same, so go for the one that graphically looks most appealing to you and has the largest community player base.  This way, at least you are guaranteed to have someone to fight with competitively for PVP purposes and the eyecandy will temporarily relieve you of the mindnumbing killfest to reach "the next level."

Since (For some absolutely insane reason) FLYFF is particularily high up in the MMORPG.com score ratings, your best bet would probably be to play this anyway.  I suppose you could say it is the best of the worst the MMO market has to offer.

Other not-downright-horrible-but-still-really-bad free MMOs that come to mind are:

    Silkroad Online
    Hero Online
    Any-other-korean-mmo-with-ONLINE-after-it Online
    Maple Story
Runescape (Not asian based but still horrible nevertheless)

Every game in existence has some form of repetition. It depends on the game developer as to how entertaining that repetition really is.
