Whatever happened to Origin?

If EA owns Origin, how did it come to be? Was Origin not making enough money in the pre-trammel days? Tell me all you know! Thanks.

    EA owned Origin long before UO. If you look at your UO box it'll have the EA symbol on it. Who knows why they sold out to EA, Usually reasons like getting more money, or getting better advertising, etc... Or maybe EA saved them from going bankrupt. I dunno really, but Origin is still it's own company as far as I'm aware, they are just owned by EA.
