...Where down the line a board admin states that new things are coming wednesday. However, the admin does not say anything about a beta, to my knowledge.

Lets see here...where to get started? #1 tisk..tisk.. on MurtBijan I really love your very intersting opinion on World of Warcraft. I figured since you been a member since 12/13/02 that you would come up with more useful replies, but the imaturity of people will always amaze me. You really shouldn't talk about something you haven't the slightest clue about. Here pal...educate yourself...http://www.blizzard.com/wow It is going to be a awesome MMORPG. I can't make any imature knocks on Everquest II seeing as I have never played it, but WoW will be unique and It WILL be the NEXT BIG MMORPG.
Finally to answer you question I visted the World of Warcraft FAQs section to find the following information.
Will you guys be beta testing World of Warcraft, and how do I sign up?
Our beta tests have included public participation for several years now, and World of Warcraft will be no exception. In fact, it will probably be our largest and most extensive beta test ever.
When will the beta start?
The beta is expected to begin in early 2004, and it will be done in stages. That is all the information we have at this time; please watch the World of Warcraft site for any news regarding the beta.
Can you tell us more about the beta? Will there be different phases? Will there be an open beta? Will it require an NDA?
World of Warcraft is currently in the alpha-testing stage (internal testing open to the entire company). The beta test, which is scheduled to start sometime in early 2004, will initially be open to players in the U.S., Canada, and Korea. Participation will require an NDA. Similarly to how we've conducted beta tests in the past, we will gradually open up the beta to more and more testers in order to gauge server stability and connectivity. While we don't know what the total number of beta testers will be yet, this will by far be our largest beta test ever.
What will the NDA involve?
The NDA (nondisclosure agreement) is a standard contractual agreement used in the game industry to help prevent sensitive game information from being released to the public by those who have access to that information. Because beta testers will be playing an unfinished, classified version of World of Warcraft before the rest of the world, its important that there be an agreement in place that serves this purpose. The NDA for the World of Warcraft beta test has not yet been finalized. When the time comes, every potential beta tester will be able to fully read the NDA prior to accepting it, and we will encourage everyone to make sure that they fully understand and agree to the NDA first. An age limit for the World of Warcraft beta test has not yet been determined.
I'm in Europe. Will I be able to participate in the World of Warcraft Beta?
We have not yet finalized our beta plans, but we do know that at some point in the process we will need to test servers worldwide. This will certainly involve Europe, but to what extent and when has not been determined.
As of an exact day, you should check blizzard's home page daily...I hope you find my info useful

I am also anxiously awaiting the release of WoW. After reading practically the entire Blizzard website on the game, it has much appeal to it. I only have 1 drawback that I've read so far, and that is PvP. It seems the only PvP allowed in game at this time will be arena fighting. I would have thought that since the original Warcraft games always pitted the Horde vs. Alliance, that there would be Neutral zones or Battle frontiers in which the Horde can do battle with the Alliance in PvP action. Maybe Blizzard has plans for this and have not spoken of it yet... I personally think that a game this good would be severely restricted if it were just another XP/Level grind type, as I have played far too many online games whereas I get to max level and then say to myself...OK What Now? If anyone has any info on whether or not Blizzard intends to have massive PvP areas other than Arenas, Post a link or something so I can check it out.
I suppose I will be like many of you other WoW fans out there, filling out the Beta App and crossing my fingers. Good Luck and I hope to see you all in game!

I Can't Hear YOU !
I've seen the leaked alpha version of this game. And I can tell you this much.
There isn't that much customization at the beginning from what I've seen.
You have 8 races, 5 class, 2 gender and you can customize skin color, face, hair style, hair color.
This really isn't that much compared to some other titles announced for this year, particularly I'm thinking of CoH. I've seen the in-game graphic played on actual computer (not the movie shot) and I tell you it isn't really what you think it will be. There are simply not much details put in as they promised they would do or did they?
The blockishness of many of game objects and characters is beyond bearable at least in my opinion. And it looks like they are trying to do all they can to compensate that with all sort of polygons bump-mapping. This isn't to let you down but don't be too excited about this title. Blizzard has done great work in previous franchise titles but there aren't just that much with this one beyond the diversified number of quests and some limited pvp.

Also keep in mind they stated the BETA SIGNUP PERIOD will begin on Wed, not the actual beta test:
Granted, this doesn't mean the actual beta test won't start also on Wed, but chances are it won't, at best I'd expect it to start sometime after the 4th when the signup period ends and they've had time to pick through the millions of applications they're bound to recieve and find the XXX number they're looking for for the first phase.

Honestly, save yourself the headache and wait til later in the sign-up period to actually do so. I'd be surprised if anyone managed to get through the entire sign-up application without getting a time-out in the first 4 or 5 hours.
