Cheap anime shtick?

in Final Fantasy XI

Im looking for a new game and was thinking about this one, but is there that cheap anime shtick in it? or is it like serious? Because I played RO and that was way too jokey for me (like the ad im looking at, someone wearing a panda hat or signs on thier head and archer apples).

    its not kiddie type anime, but its not like "anime" either. The character designs are classic square-enix style.  but monsters dont look "anime-ish" i think graphics are top notch if you have a good card to support it.

     I hate those anime games too but FFXI is luckily not one of them.

    I currently play FFXI. I can't really say its the best I personally have ever played, but it is one good game. There are just little things here and there that make it not the best game.

    The experiance gain is very slow, making players have to invest a good amount of time into this game in order to get anywhere. Say you haven't played all day and you finally get home to play; you play for 3 hours stright, which is rare for you, just to die from an uber bunny and have that 3 hours wasted (you loose 10% of the experiance needed for next level).

    On the other hand, if you can take the experiance pentalties then this game shouldn't be too bad for you. BUT, the fact that the monster designing and creativity is EXTREMELY poor, is eritateing. You'll end up seeing the same monsters OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER again. It wouldn't be that bad if the monsters weren't so crappy, bunnys, goblins, worms, and SHEEP!? This game is mainly copy & paste.

    UXO on the other hand, has some VERY intesnly designed monsters. I do suggest you check them out, www.uxo.ea.com
