World of Warcraft: Beta Signups On Wednesday!

AdminAdmin Administrator RarePosts: 5,623

Apparently Blizzard will be accepting applications for beta testing for World of Warcraft this Wednesday (Jan 28, 2004).  This was posted in their forums:

At 6:00 pm PST on Wednesday, January 28th, the signup period for the World of Warcraft Beta Test will officially begin. We will provide a link to the beta-test application right here in the news section at that time. Testers are not going to be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis, so you will be able to submit an application and receive equal consideration anytime during the signup period, which will end on Wednesday, February 4th at 6:00 pm PST. Please note that multiple submissions from the same household will result in complete disqualification.

For this initial phase of the World of Warcraft beta test, we will only be able to accept applications from Canada, Korea, and the US. The test for Europe and other countries around the world will happen later this year. Please do not contact us for further information regarding the beta test; we will be posting a FAQ in the days ahead.

Oh SO SO SO clever, UK and Europe are 6 months behind again - what is it with American companies thinking we cant cope with 'new' games ?

How much Damage will this do to getting european players - a hell of a lot.  Stop treating us like second class citizens!!

BTW MMORPG.COM - doing a great job with all the news - thanks.

So "multiple submissions from the same household will result in complete disqualification" means that my husband and I can't apply for the beta?  I certainly hope that isn't the case or we'll have to sue the company for encouraging image homicide.

I too really do hope they don't mean that husband and wives can't apply together. My wife would be desperate enough to attempt murder (on me !). image

P.S for European player: It simply means that the number and Beta testers being limited in a first phase, they'll cater in a first time to their prime and most numerous clients. Koreans are there because (I guess) of the 1+ million people playing Lineage there hehe. The time zones may have a rlein that too.

Times like this make me wish I was living in America... bwah ...

Guess they are gonna be doing a lot of even testing otherwhise the time difference shouldn't be a problem....
