this game is in Beta and its Korean , the BEST game i have ever played in a while , and im not korean btw ^^
this game got it all , the cool grafics , pvp elements , cool stuff in too . u better check it out . and watch the trailers on youtube too . thats how i find out about the game
the thing that catched my eye , was , the feeling when u create your character , right from the start . and NPC recives u and start talking ( yeah he got a voice cover and all but in korean lol) and it was like a in game mini movie , like a regular quest ^^ . the grafics are cool . go and watch it

You know, if games REALLY want to set themselves apart from the asian grind MMOs they should make a new website style. Has anyone noticed theyre all the EXACT same website with different colors, and a different banner?

how should i play this game, i even cant read the homepage and are you sure it isnt just a normal asian grinder like silkroad, hero online, muonline, etc... etc..
When I first saw it in december I think I thought it would be rather good but then I played the korean beta for a week, casually and it turned out to be just another asian MMORPG with null value.

well , yeah its a grindfest . but i liked it cus the battle sistem is kinda diferent from the other ones , and the grafics and all , this game hooked me up , and as for the "its korean" well there are people translating the interface and stuff like that , so , print it out and start playing , and look fo the server with most americans lol as i did

This game owns all the games I have seen and played so far, but thats just what I think.
The games very similar to GW (if you own GW and palyed this game or seen the mission vid clip you will see what I mean), just with more lvls + more features, for example you can ride hoverbikes, movie seens during missions ect....

NOTE: One think though, they changed the kr sign up for foreigners, so you cant sign up without a call to nexon and aprove your foreign account, or you need a KSSN,(Note stealing a KSSN can lead you to major problems with the law if caught so dont try stealing someones KSSN), so to those of you who had high hopes for this game you are gonna have to wait for the jap version to come out.
Oh and for those who don't know what a (KSSN) is, well lets just say its something they put on kr game signups to keep out foreigners, but thats not what it really is, its like an ID thing in kr.

I watched that video where the player is fighting those spider like creatures.The game looks nothing different than any other i have seen from korea.As a matter of fact it looked very bad.The rocks on the side of the linear pathway didn't even look like rocks.As per usual you can't even enjoy the fight scene because there usual 5 animation frame sequences are not even visible.You can't even see the sword swinging.The player movement looked very poor as well,it seems like the player just skips across and doesn't show much animation,wich again i'm not surprised.
How can anyone label a game the best ever,when it looks old like a very cheap game engine and the animators are too lazy to make enough animations in the sequences to have an enjoyable fight scene.This looks like same old same old but looks worse.

ZerA is a great game , not the 10/10 MMO .... but preety damn better than Hero online and all those others free mmos and some pay for play ones lol . and it makes it more challenging because i cant understand nothing so u have to check on the internet for some info and some mindgames with the translators for korean websites , i dont have the best computer , but i run the game on 1280x1024 , and thas windoer mode

If you are looking for a hardcore / PK friendly / game you will get bored with ZerA pretty fast. I only played 10-15 hours a week average, 99% solo (grouped very rarely with strangers), and PVPed only when challenged / annoyed, which is fine by me. You do need a good graphics card and relatively strong specs to enjoy
it (which is true of almost any MMO). Also a decent connection since
South Korea is king of all Intarweb speeds.
Pros:
+ Very smooth / beautiful graphics, with the most lifelike animation I've seen in any MMO
+ Leveling / economy progression is faster and less wearying than Lineage 2's
+ Highly soloable, no grouping needed
+ Most attacks are AOE
+ Very fun skill system - you are limited to 10, but through quests / trainer can receive many many types of skills, it's up to you to set them up. Depending on egopanel you can make use of skill chain bonuses.
+ Different playing styles per class - bow or dual ranger, sword or staff wizard - requiring different setup of skills
+ ZERO DOWNTIME. You do need to manage your rage/mp in order to keep using skills.
+ Rezzing on the spot is possible at greater xp cost
+ No class transfer quest omggg
+ PVP disable setting if you just want to get on with grinding. Although this is kind of annoying sometimes when you just want to PK bots / annoying people.
+ Really really really beautiful OST, and the ig-movies are nice. (I am a sucker for peripherals.)
Cons:
- GRIND GRIND GRIND. It can be fun but still!
- It is very easy to get full drops so the game is really farmer friendly.
- PVP: As usual range > all, so everyone will be a bow ranger / wizard.
- PVP invite system is not too hot, imo they should go open PVP (heard they planned to)
- You are what you wear / wield / the skills you have / the egopanel you use.
- Limited classes / armour skins, everyone looks the same
- Limited things to do past higher levels (demiplanes - the mission instances - get stale after multiple runs).
- Somewhat limited character customization
- Good luck male wizards finding something decent to wear.
There used to be a really really great bunch of guys posting translations on zeranexus.com, but they seem to have stopped playing. I stopped to work on a personal project, though I might play again on JP beta.

To start off don't post any videos and then tell me they don't do the gamer justice.Next up i watched that ranger video done with fraps wich if i remeber right can show around 25 fps.Didn't change my view whatsoever.My post was way to long bewcause i was gonna try to wake you guys up past your post MU online free to play experiences ,but i said why bother ,i'll only get flack.
goto 3dbuzz.com and learn some things on what makes a real good looking player game.View stuff using HL2 engine/unreal3 engine anything like doom or quake.WHen i see you making an arguement for a game by comparing it to HERO online i break out in tears and just say i'm trying to make sense to nonsense.
In no way am i saying the game can't be fun for you,nor am i even saying thew game isn't decent because i havn't played it to even understand the mechanics.All i know is what i see in the videos and i see nothing that can't be achieved on a PS2 ,like FFXI did.
They can do so much with textures now ,like multi layer them to give more realistic looks.Cloth looks like cloth ,metal gleams and shines like metal.From the total of 3 videos i saw,especially the ranger one wich was quite clear,the texture useage in this game is total throwback to old school,and could never warrant this game a great game standing.The crossbow magic bolts or whatever it was shooting looked cheap and like everything else just looks like they don't want to use many frame animations in there sequences.This way they can overpopulate servers and hope it doen't lag down players machines.
So please don't post a video showing off something ,then question ME on what i see with my own eyes.
John carmack would shake in laughter if asked to rate games like these.There's an idea get this site to have a weekly questionnaire from a knowledgeable person like carmack commenting on new games....a sorta siskel and ebert thing lmao.

I don't care what John Carmack thinks and I don't care if a game has quad pipe orgasmic texture filtering or not. Zera looks great and plays great. I've played most mmorpgs and I can tell the difference. Forget the Korean stereotypes.

Lol, I use that argument (don't like the graphics) to justify my dislike of WoW, so I understand why you're kind of annoyed when people say this game is so hot.
In my case I just didn't find WoW's gameplay fun enough to put up with the graphics, whereareas I do like Zera's graphics and I found it quite fun to play. Since all MMOs are mostly alike you might as well find one you enjoy playing in, rather than one a lot of people / experts recommend for xyz reasons you don't really care about?
Sounds more like you aren't impressed by the graphics engine / technology used for rendering and animation. I don't know what they use, but since I'm happy the way it looks and plays, I'm not bothered much. And honestly, the (imo) ugliest 3D MMO on the market is also the most successful (WoW
Although I'll admit, I was pretty happy to learn that Lineage 3 will run on the Unreal3 engine
