As a warrior I LOVE mages, here's why....

I charge, stunning the mage, usually getting in two normal hits plus a bloodthirst hit.  With a Bonereaver's Edge and 27% crit (berserker stance), I've got a good chance to crit one or more of those opening hits, especially vs cloth.  This usually brings the mage down to anywhere from 2/3rds health to 1/2 health.  If the mage stands there, like many surprisingly do, and tries to get off a couple of instants they will dead long before they can do 5k damage to me.  But typically they frost nova and blink, at which point I'll hit my PvP trinket to break the frost nova, intercept, stunning them again and getting in another couple hits + bloodthirst.  If the mage survives the 2nd volly they are always below 20% and I can just finish them off with an execute.

In a typical fight with a mage, I'll kill them before they do more than 5% damage to me.  WTFBBQPWNED!!

And thats why I love mages.

Are mages good in PvP...in general yes, unless confronted by a well geared out warrior :)  Funny story, I ran into a 15 man, mage only, AB group.  They PWNED!  They'd ride into a base, sheep everybody, cap the flag, then proceed to single target nuke everybody down one by one.  Nobody stood a chance, funny stuff.

Are mages good in PvE...yup, sheep are great, and their DPS is a must have.

Why don't they blink out of the first stun?

I have 4 points in improved imp and 2 points in improved imp fireball making him a fast caster which usually drives mages crazy I just cast curse of tongues put my dot's always put immolate after shadow burn once I quiclky use conflagrate to finish them off. Most of them worry about curse of tongues and corruption so they take it out with there spell giving me enough time to pretty much take all there healt down frost nova isn't a problem I just range them out with a shadow bolt(im destruction specced)..

Sometimes they get me to 25% healt so I just cast DeathCoil get back to 30-45% healt and launch my intant spells.

The only think I liked of them is there conjured food :D

What I hate? When they pull agrro in intances always trouble for healer's etc etc

I assume its because they like the frost nova/blink combo so they're saving their blink.  But when they do blink out of the initial charge stun I'll typically lob a grenade, run up to them, then they'll frost nova and try to run off, I'll hit my PvP trinket breaking the frost nova.  The mage being fresh out of frost nova's and blinks is usually dead before they recycle.

There are a lot of variables in a warrior vs mage fight, but basically I stay in their face and kill them before they can kill me.

Oh and I almost forgot....Mages have what, 1000 armor tops?  Bonereaver's Edge proc knocks off 700 of that armor, and its a stackable proc, so if the fight goes any length at all they'll be near or at 0 armor...then my hits really start getting big and nasty.

Well generally speaking, almost every fight is different in a small way. The thing I loved about mages, was the challenge of staying alive. I embraced fragileness and used it as means for getting the most out of my mage. Sure, there were times where the fragile factor couldn't have been overcome but I simply enjoy spellcasters :P
