Warhammer online why do u think its bad or good?

giddgidd Member Posts: 89
I have been through a few post and  other things about warhammer and im curious to find who doesnt like it for OTHER reasons then that Ea efficted it dont forgot mythic has always delivered greatly and EA will just get its name on the cover since they know it will be a good hit. EA can not do anything to change the game plus EA= cash for the game which is good for us and the makers..THe other reason that seems popular is that plp think its gonna be a wow wannabe. THe first warhammer type game and warcraft game if u look at dates they were made or realasead u would see that warhammer came first making warcraft a clone kinda of. IF u have any other reason for why it will or all ready does.(hows that possibly?) sucks and your reason seems very good i will shutup. YEs i am a warhammer addict and have tried WOW. all insults are allowed cuz i realy dont care if u call me gay dumb whatever or tell me to get a life because i have one and even if i didnt warhammer and MMORPGS would be my life then. Sorry for spelling errors and grammar errors.

I'm very worried that Mythic is more concerned with making a "Warcraft killer" than they are concerned about making a game that is true to the atmosphere and lore of the Warhammer universe.  From the screenshots I've seen so far, I don't like the art style and how WoW-like the art seems is a big concern.

Hopefully, I'm wrong, and it'll be a great game, and not just "like Warcraft, but better!"

They most certainly can do plenty to change the game. They may only be the publisher at this time, but that gives them the ability to push the release cycle up to meet their own expectations. They can also reject a release candidate for whatever reason.

Ianbusi i said change the game not the release date and all that crap when i say change i mean like well u know what you are playing! plus u said something like they have plenty they can change and u gave 2 reason.d

Because it's yet another mainstream fantasy game. Two things I'm not particularly eager to play.

It was my understanding that they put off some new patch to UO because the devs there had been sent over to mythic to help work on WAR. Seems to me that if EA is sending in Devs they must have some say on what's being done over there.

warhammer has far too much hype....that never ends well.

I think it'll be fun to play, but it doesn't seem to be bringing that much to the table other than PvP and a slightly different spin on lvl advancement.  I like both the ideas as they currently are, but am still dubious about some of the new PvP rules they are bringing in, mainly bots and instanced areas.  I can kinda see why but it doesn't mean I like it, I just hope the execution in the final release makes me change my mind.

Only time will tell if WAR is any good....

I LOL at you people who seem to think EA will not have any say or a roll in Warhammer. You people act like there some cash cow that just is there to loan money out without monitoring or effecting how that money is used.  Some of you need to get a clue.

No you need to get a clue. Or are you the lawyer who made the contract?

Nobody knows anything yet, it's a 50/50 chance.

The problem with saying wow copied warhammers style is, wow is 3 years old or will be by the time WAr comes out. People wont log onto WAR and say ahhh now I see where wow got it's style from. They're going to say WAR looks just like wow did.  It's not right or fair but real life never is I guess.

Well actually everbody copies something, warhammer did it too. That's not the problem/point, people should think before posting.

WAR is not a clone and never will be, a warhammer mmorpg was already in work some years ago before WoW even launched.

I thought its gonna be a Dark Age of Camelot coppy..

I have high hopes for this game.

I thought Mythic did a good job with DAOC and IMHO it still has the best pvp to date.  We all realize WAR will be a EQ,WOW etc  clone to some extent and for the most part I think that will be good. Of course they will add their own wrinkles and hopefully use a very user friendly pvp system like DAOC. I can't see this game not being a big success.

I think it will be bad because the people I don't agree with on these forums likes it.

Well, anyone who has listened to Paul Bernett talk about Warhammer Online would realise there is no chance at all that Warhammer Online isn't going to represent the setting and ethos of Warhammer perfectly. Unless he's smoking drugs and what's being produced has nothing to do with what he's saying. He's the entrenched Games Workshop guy at the end of the day.

As for the look? Well, it was inevitable that Warhammer Online would look a bit like WoW, as Warhammer basically established a certain look decades ago and let's just say WOW has some familiarities :)

They just better have gore and nudity, or its not Warhammer.

If one more game comes out claiming a mainstream franchise, and someone fucks it up, ill DDOS those bastards.

Yeah, espically since WAR is using (Or so I hear) the art that it always did for the past 25 years.

I thought WAR will have sieging that the game more pvp?... So how can anyone call it a copy of WoW?

Also WoW,or Warcraft, has no innovation in all their games. They just took the best ideas from all types of games and done it well. The devs even said this themself.

BTW I think the first Warcraft game came out a year before Warhammer.

So they are going to radically change the graphics from what they have now, before the release?  I don't think what they already have represents the Warhammer setting perfectly by a long shot. I also don't think shooting for a teen rating represents the Warhammer setting, either.

I'm hoping the game ends up as something I enjoy, but I am pretty put off so far by what I've seen of the screenshots, as far as graphics go.  If the gameplay rocks, I can get over the graphics.

We don't know if it's good or bad yet, it's still another year and a half away from release.

I don't have much faith in Mythic after the way they've screwed DAoC, and I don't have much faith in EA for the obvious reasons.  I'll be staying away.
